Showbiz Folks Turned Politicians Part 2

November 4, 2009

It will be elections season come November 20, the first day of the ten day period for the filing of candidacy in the 2010 synchronized elections. And in the Philippines where there is a blur in the line between showbiz and politics, expect a throng of showbiz folks running for public office once again. And just like in my previous post about the 2007 elections which to this day continue to attract rabid comments, here are the showbiz folks who intended to run in the coming polls:

1. Joseph Estrada for President of the Philippines once again
2. Edu Manzano for Senator under the party of Former President Joseph Estrada
3. Cesar Montano for Governor of his home province of Bohol
4. Vilma Santos for re-election as Governor of Batangas
5. Aiko Melendez for Vice Mayor of Quezon City
6. Herbert Bautista for Mayor of Quezon City
7. Ara Mina for Councilor in the 2nd district of Quezon City
8. Alfred Vargas for councilor in a district of Quezon City
9. Dan Fernandez for re-election as Congressman in the 1st district of Laguna
10. Jestoni Alarcon for Vice Governor of Rizal
11. Sen. Lito Lapid for Governor of Pampanga
12. Sen. Bong Revilla for re-election as Senator of the Philippines
13. Sen. Jinggoy Estrada for re-election as Senator of the Philippines
14. Maybelline Dela Cruz for Councilor
15. Richard Gomez for Congressman in the lone district of Ormoc City
16. Manny Pacquiao for Congressman of the 1st District of Saranggani
17. ……

I may have miss so many other actors running for public office in the 2010 elections. Feel free to add them in the comments section. Thank you.
