A new woman has filed a rape complaint against Vhong Navarro before the Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office on Wednesday, April 2. The complainant, a certain Margarita Fajardo (according to pep.ph), submitted her affidavit before the Quezon City assistant city prosecutor Nilo Peñaflor. The complaint was raffled to assistant city prosecutor Nilda Ordoño for preliminary investigation. In her four-page complaint-affidavit released to the media just today, Friday, April 4, the complainant, a new unnamed woman who worked as a double in a telenovela that starred Vhong Navarro, narrated the alleged rape incident that happened inside the sports utility vehicle (SUV) of Vhong sometime in early 2009. The new complainant said it happened during the last few weeks of the taping of their telenovela.

During a break in their taping, she said she was lured into the SUV when she was sought by Vhong’s driver to go inside the SUV because Vhong Navarro wanted to talk to her. Once inside the SUV, the new unnamed complainant narrated how she was raped by the actor.

The complainant said she is now just coming out, even if the alleged rape happened in 2009, because: “It is only now that I am coming out to tell my story because I was inspired by the courage of other women who are coming out now to seek justice and to tell the truth about Vhong,” she said.

Vhong Navarro’s legal team is unfazed with the new charges. Vhong Navarro’s lawyer, Atty. Alma Mallonga said that they have yet to receive a copy of the complaint but they however are not surprised with it, the timing of the filing raises serious questions, and that they are ready to face the case head on, and that this is an act of desperation of Vhong’s detractors.

Vhong Navarro is currently shooting a movie with Sollen Heussaff entitled “Da Possessed” the trailer of which is now being shown on TV and dubbed as the “summer movie of the year.” Photo credits: Sollen Heussaff.
