GMA’s hit TV soap My Husband’s Lover is short of being called immoral by the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines Episcopal Commission on Youth (CBCP-ECY) executive secretary Fr. Kunegundo Gargantaang. In his interview aired over Catholic radio station Radyo Veritas, Fr.

My Husband’s Lover stars Dennis Trillo, Tom Rodriguez, Victor Basa and Carla Abellana. Dennis and Tom’s gay love story, earning the moniker Tom-Den, captivated the Philippines conservative populace, which alarmed the CBCP.

Deputy Presidential Spokesperson Abigail Valte in relation to the CBCP’s complaint, directed viewers of the TV show to make a complaint to the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB). The MTRCB approved without cuts My Husband’s Lover only slapping it with a Strong Parental Guidance (SPG) rating.

Unlike the foreign Catholic churches which was hit by gay priests molestation scandals, the Philippines Catholic clergy, despite being humiliated in several elections with their endorsed candidates not winning and or church campaign against candidates not favoring their agenda (who still win anyway), are always favored by most politicians and the established media.
