GMA News reporter Julius Segovia denied ever committing child abuse to two nine-year-old students who filed a complaint against him in a police station in Butuan City last June 27, 2015. Julius Segovia conducted a campus journalism workshop in the Butuan City SPED Center and the reported fees for attendees were 2,800 pesos for students and 3,000 pesos for teachers. There were more or less 400 attendees, reports say.

The two students were accompanied by their respective parents and teachers when they filed the complaint at the Women and Children Welfare Desk of the Butuan City Police Station.

According to the report of, the police blotter report narrated how the students were verbally abused and publicly humiliated by Julius Segovia during the seminar workshop.

In his Facebook page posted July 1, 2015, Julius Segovia categorically denied what happened.
