Claudine Barretto has been filed a complaint of Theft by her own maid cum personal assistant. If it sounds weird, since it is apparently what is not what is the usual, Claudine Barretto first accused her maid/PA, Dessa Candelario Patilan, 19 years old from Catarman, Northern Samar, of allegedly attempting to rob her of 8.5 million worth of jewelries and other valuables.

Now, the PA, Dessa Patilan Candelario, strikes back by filing a case against Claudine for Theft too. Last September 11, she filed a five-page complaint affidavit to the Office of the City Prosecutor of Marikina accusing her former employer of Theft or violation of Article 308 of the Revised Penal Code of the Philippines.

Ms. Patilan in her affidavit recalled that on the night of May 10, 2013, Claudine accompanied by accompanied by Michelle Barretto, Ma. Luisa Ponce Becher, and three police officers, went to her room at the actress’ home in Loyola Grand Villas in Marikina City, to search her belongings after Claudine reported her to a police station for theft.

Dessa Patilan believing that she’s innocent, did not hesitate to show her things. Claudine then allegedly got her wallet and took her money worth Php10,700, representing her salary, leaving her 700 pesos to spend. Claudine also took her tablet with a 4 gigabyte memory card and her SIM card, all in all worth, 13,550 pesos.

Dessa Patilan in her filed verified complaint asked Claudine to pay her 13,550 for the damages, 50,000 for moral damages, 50,000 for exemplary damages, and to the cost of the suit, her lawyer’s fee. Photo credits: Roldan Castro.
