Yasmien Kurdi replaces Jennylyn Mercado as the lead star in the TV
version of Sharon Cuneta’s “Pasan Ko ang Daigdig.”

But it’s not because Jennylyn Mercado is a talent of Becky Aguila, who’s now a persona non-grata with GMA-7 after the Angel Locsin brouhaha.

Yasmien Kurdi was selected as per GMA press release since her first remake of a Sharon movie, “Pati Ba Pintig ng Puso,” is such a big hit and they want to give her a follow-up project right away with her leading man, JC de Vera.

Meanwhile GMA-7 executive Wilma Galvante said, “Jennylyn has nothing to worry about. “She’s a StarStruck discovery so hindi namin siya
pababayaan. Her contract with us is until 2009 and we will honor
that, even if we won’t do business with her manager anymore.
Para kasing supplier `yan na binastos ka. E, kung binastos ka, bakit
mo pa siya bibigyan ng negosyo? Kami, we know how to respect people
who work with us kaya may obligation pa rin kami kay Jennylyn.

    whatever GMA lagi niyo na lang sinasabi na hindi maapektuhan career ni jennylyn pero ano ngayon ang nangyayari sa kanya wala pa siyang trabaho hanggang ngaun simula ng pumutok ung issue with angel tinangal niyo pa siya sa Sop……..hindi sila angel at becky ang may kasalanan sa pagbagsak ng career ni jennylyn kung hindi ang management ng GMA kung ako sa iyo jen wag kang magpaka tanga lumipat ka na rin sa Abs kasi dun aalagaan ka nila

    FYI, Pasan Ko Ang Daigdig was never offer to Jennylyn Mercado. The project is really for Yasmien Kurdi. The GMA management was just overwhelmed with Yasmien because all her shows rated so high. She’s a good actress indeed and with such a pretty face too.

    ang pangit pangit nio…GMA stands for “GREAT MANGGAGAYA ADMINISTRATION” no offense ha kc 220 nman…mga manggagaya walang ka ori originality…nakarma na nga kAyo….
    pls watch ABS-CBN shows…

    i dont like a lot of gma talents but i really like jen and its a shame that they are doing her like this. choosing yasmin over her. that yasmin isnt even a good actor, i watched her in sinenovela and i was so disappointed. she did not give justice to the role. she overly acted on most of her scenes. they should have given that part to someone else.

    GMA is well known when it comes to creativity of their shows and especially the news reports that we watch everyday…so far so good.. GMA is intellegent… dont react coz GMA can move on… whatever it is… WHo is angel by the way? i dont care… GMA is always there… please watch Marimar… Thanks!!! :)

    hay naku d naman kawalan c jennylyn sa gma no same as angel.. ok lang na umalis na din sya.. AND FYI mas sikat pa rin ang GMA than ABS

    pikon ang mga big wigs (baket? kalbo na ba sila sa kakaisip at problema kung paano sila aangat sa kalubugan ng station nila ngayong wala na si angel?! bwahahaha)

    si marian rivera naman daw ang new star nila?

    its so sad na di na si Jennylyn ang gaganap.. dahil lng kina becky and angel nacancelled lahat ng projects ni jen sa GMA..

    sana totoo nga na d nila pababayaan si Jen..
    sya lng pinapapanood namin sa pinoytv, if ever GMA will not give her good projects we will go back to tfc…

    jen is talented and beautiful.. and madami syang fans na sumusuporta sa knya..
    kahit anong mangyari nandito kami para sa kanya…
