In the July 7, 2008 episode of Wowowee, Mrs. Nena Santos won in Wowowee’s “Bigtime Pera o Bayong” segment, the second prize of a brand-new house and lot from Globe Asiatique. It then took her 7 more months after to finally see her prize. When she got to see it after constant followup with the Wowowee staff, Mrs. Santos is claiming that the house Globe Asiatique was giving to her located at Santa Barbara Villas II in San Mateo, Rizal was actually ‘repossessed’ property.
She said that she could not be wrong about the house and lot that was promised to her because the Wowowee “Bigtime Pera O Bayong” winner only a week before she had won, had shown her brand new, single detached, and fully furnished house in an episode of Rated K hosted by Krina Sanchez, which was shown on August 2008.
When she saw this particular episode of Rated K, she asked a staff of Wowowee why the particular episode’s winner had shown a completely different house. The Wowowee staff, a certain Ivy, allegedly said, “Etching lang po ‘yon. Hindi po talaga ‘yon ang bahay na binibigay, nakiusap lang po sila sa Globe Asiatique.”

The same Wowowee staff further told her, “Hindi naman porke nanalo kayo ng house and lot, mansion na ang mapapanalunan n’yo. Pasalamat pa nga kayo, nanay, may house and lot kayo. Ang dapat ninyong ginawa, nagsimba kayo, nagpasalamat kayo at may house and lot na kayo.’”
If the allegations are true, then Korina Sanchez’s trusted public affairs show, Rated K episode was also used.
She then called the attention of other Wowowee winning contestants who may have experienced the same thing as hers to come forward and tell their story so that they can together file a complaint before the Department Of Trade And Industry.
ABS-CBN in reaction to this latest Wowowee scandal issued an official statement through its Corporate Communications head Bong Osorio the following:
“ABS-CBN together with Globe Asiatique is in the process of investigating the claims of Mrs. Nena Santos about the prize she won in Wowowee. We will make sure that Mrs. Santos gets the prize due her as soon as the important details are ironed out.
“To date, Wowowee has given out 19 houses without any problem. This is the first time we are encountering a problem like what Mrs. Santos has raised.”

Yon nga isang winner binigay na bahay sa tabi pa ng sementeryo at minumulto pa sa gabi. Pasalamat pa siya! Nangako ang ABS-CBN na magpapadala ng exorcist team pero di dumating dahil natakot din sa multong lumalabas. Pero nag tiyaga yong winner at nagpi-pray lang bago matulog. Lumayas din po yong mga multo after 1 week sa inis.
sana sabihin nila totoong location, itsura at size ng mapapanalunang house and lot. kawawa naman kung sa gitna ng gubat, bundok, riles, kanal, disyerto o squater’s area yun. matapos nila mag emote-emote sa tv para sa ratings ng show dun din pala bagsak nila. mga kawawang nilalang. ginagamit lang.

ano? may house and lot na nga, mag-re reklamo ka pa? sa hirap ng panahon ngayon, bakit hindi na lang nya i-benta ang bahay…? may pera pa sana siya…

Eh ano nman kung reposes, buti nga may bahay ka. Atleast ginawa nila at inayos… kesa naman wala.. eh di kunin mo at ipagbili mo after one year kikita din iyon… Masyado kayo nagkaroon na nga kayo magrereklamo pa kayo. Sa akin kaya nyo ibigay iyan

Ayusin nyo buhay nyo! It was not just a simple prize. It is what the contestant deserves to have. As if papayag kyo na pekeen kyo! Mga ipokrito!
