Wowowee – pay to be a contestant?

In the Miss Fitrum portion of Wowowee yesterday, a Miss Fitrum contestant let out a controversial revelation. The Miss Fitrum contestant claimed that her sister was offered to shell out an amount for her or any of her kin to be a contestant of any portion in Wowowee. This controversial statement was uttered in the Question and Answer Portion of the Miss Fitrum Search in Wowowee, wherein host Willie Revillame was interviewing the candidates. Willie Revillame although was taken aback of the claim and was visibly irked, he still managed to breeze through the portion though. Willie Revillame also clarified that there is no such thing, or at least those that are sanctioned by them, and if ever true, is clearly a scam. Willie said this though rather lightheartedly because of the portion’s not so serious atmosphere/ambience.

If found out to be true, this will again be a big blow to Wowowee‘s reputation. It has been the subject of several investigations of fraud and an ongoing court case over the Ultra Stampede. I believe the very first Wowowee alleged scam scandal happened over the Ace Vidanes Scandal culminated by the 2007 Story of the Year, the Joey-Willie Noontime Sagutan saga.

    Monday rin 1/19 sa willie of fortune. sabi ng contestant hindi pinapasok kapatid nya dahil may bayad raw.

    Our kabaranggays used to be at Umagang Kay Ganda almost every month, they are mostly senior citizens. They want to be at WOWOWEE, para naman maiba, kaso sabi nga “raw” e me BAYAD para makapasok! Bakit kaya? Totoo ba yan?

    may bayad ang pumasok sa wowowee oo totoo yan pero that is for TFC only
    ang pagsali naman sa mga contest ay wala dapat matsaga ka lang pumila
