Miss USA Falls in Miss Universe 2008
Miss USA Crystle Stewart fell down in the Miss Universe 2008 Pageant in the Evening Gown Competition. Too bad for Crystle Stewart because she deserved to win the Miss Universe Title. She was in the Top 10 Semi-Finalist Miss Universe 2008 and was a shoo-in for the Top 5 before the debacle. Crystle Stewart was Miss Texas before winning Miss USA. And unfortunately, it happened the second time in a row for Miss USA. Miss USA 2007 Rachel Smith also fell down in the Evening Gown Competition in the Miss Universe 2007 Pageant. Miss Philippines 1999 Miriam Quiambao also fell down in a Miss Universe 1999 pre-Pageant event but she went on to place 1st Runner Up in Miss Universe.
The Philippines representative, Jennifer Barrientos failed to even make it to the Top 15. Miss Mexico was was 4th Runner Up, Miss Russia was 3rd Runner Up, Miss Dominican Republic is 2nd Runner Up, Miss Colombia, Taliana Vargas is 1st Runner Up and Miss Venezuela Eliza Najera is Miss Universe 2008.
Miss El Salvador, a petite 5-foot-3, was voted as Miss Congeniality while Miss Thailand was Best in National Costume.
