Ugly Betty in Monique Lhullier

Ugly Betty star and winner of the 59th Emmy Awards Best Actress in a Comedy Series, America Ferrara, when asked by E! News anchor, Giuliana Rancic in the red carpet, who she was wearing, meaning who designed the gown she was wearing, America Ferrara responded Monique Lhullier.
Now that’s one Filipina we should admire. She’s truly making it in the fashion industry. A true example of a famous Filipina in Hollywood.
Monique Lhullier previously designed Christine Baumgartner’s wedding dress for the Fall 2004 wedding to Kevin Costner shortly after designing both of Britney Spears’s wedding dresses in her wedding to Kevin Federline.

Hey all. I have a great book — definitely in the “Ugly Betty” mode — to recommend. It’s called “The Flawless Skin of Ugly People” (by a guy named Doug Crandell) and it’s fabulous. It’s about the relationship between a misfit of a guy with really bad acne and his extremely overweight girlfriend. Think Jenny Craig ad crossed with ProActiv infomercial, and you’ll get the idea. The best thing, though, is that this is a real love story, really romantic. And a really comforting read for anybody (like me) tired of all the perfect heroes and heroines in these kind of books. It’s out this week (and in paperback, which is good), and definitely worth buying.
