Ted Failon Daughter Speaks Out

First, the title of this post should have been Ted Failon’s Daughter Speaks Out, yes, with an ‘S, but the use of such is not search engine (google) friendly, so sa mga grammar police dyan na magagaling magcriticize, I hope you back off. There. Hehe. Now on to the story. Ted Failon’s daughter, Kaye Etong, doused all speculations that her father Ted Failon, killed her mother Trina Etong, by basically saying that her mother tried to kill herself due to financial problems.

“It was a self-inflicted incident. My mother tried to commit suicide by shooting herself in the head. Sobrang sakit na po na nangyari ito sa nanay ko (This incident with my mother has been very painful). It’s bad enough to accuse ang tatay ko,” said Kaye Etong over radio on DZMM. She then repeated that, “Yung nangyari kay Mama was an unfortunate event. It was a self-inflicted incident.”

Kaye Etong, Ted Failon’s daughter narrated what really happened. She narrated that what his father told her was the same statement the news anchor gave out hours after the incident. She said her father found her mother bathing in a pool of blood when she was found. She added that the supposed letter from her mother bore her true handwriting.

“I know my mother’s handwriting. Nung nakita ko ‘yung kopya ng sulat, alam kong sulat po ‘yun ni Mama (When I saw a copy of the letter, I know Mama’s handwriting),” adding that the use of the words “po” and “opo” was normal for her mother.

Etong also lamented how the police and the public had been treating the incident, noting that several policemen were even posing with her father for pictures while the broadcaster was undergoing paraffin test inside their house.

A portion of the letter allegedly written by Failon’s wife read: “Papa, I’m so sorry, gustong-gusto ko pong magsabi sayo ng totoo pero hindi ko po alam kung papano ko uumpisahan. Sobrang takot na takot po ako…sana po mapatawad mo ako papa (I really want to tell you the truth but I don’t know how to begin. I am so afraid…I hope you can forgive me papa).”.

Ted Failon left Camp Caringal early Thursday to visit his wife in the New Era Hospital. The authorities are now waiting for Failon to return to the police headquarters.

The daughter added that policemen tried to hold them for several hours at Camp Karingal when in fact they were merely invited for questioning.

“Hindi po ito pelikula. (This is not a movie),” she said, who at one point cried during the interview. She noted they were also trying to shield her 12-year-old sister, Karishma, from the news.

Lastly, Kaye asked for prayers for the immediate recovery of her mother.

“Kailangang kailangan po namin ang mga panalangin ninyo (We really need your prayers),” Kaye said.

wow, the police is still trying to figure it out what really happened and she sounds so conclusive already.
guess she knows not to get on his dad's bad side since he's the one making all the dough.
    what a joke.

bakit ba kasi binura agad yung mga evidence??? di ba importante yun? dapat ininstruct yung mga katulong na wag galawin yung crime or suicide scene di ba? bakit pinaliguan agad yung bangkay na di pa na paparaffin test? yun ang malaking tanong. pati yung nag suicide negative sa paraffin test.. ano ba yan!

  7. nanan on April 19th, 2009 8:16 pm

negative and bangkay sa paraffin kasi nalinisan na nung ngparaffin sila…obviously nlinisan na yung mga dumi na dapat sana eh evidence…it is still not nice to act like that..i mean yun mga asal ng mga pulis..sad to say but tayo na lng ang my mga police na obsolete sa lahat and tayo na lng ang police na my "ganti" factor pang alam..hay naku…it was obviously suicide kasi mas mahirap naman yatang pgtakapan oh mgyakap sa taong pumatay sa nanay moh..dba??she's right "this is not a movie or anything. this is reality…"

  8. koko rica boo on April 20th, 2009 9:56 am
