Philippine singing sensation Charice finally meets another one of her idol Mariah Carey at the 13th Annual Andre Agassi Charitable Foundation’s Grand Slam for Children benefit concert at the Wynn Las Vegas on Saturday, October 11, 2008 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Charice had wished to meet her idols and she got to recently courtesy of Oprah Winfrey wherein Oprah got Charice to perform in Celine Dion’s Madison Square Garden concert. Charice also got to perform with Andrea Bocelli and Josh Groban aside from Celine Dion. Her only diva idol she is yet to meet (and peform with) is Whitney Houston.

Charice will be featured on Oprah today and Oprah is calling the show, Dream Comes True - The Most Talented Girl in the World! Wow, amazing. Charice Pempengco has been to places no Filipina has been ever accorded such an accolade and spotlight (except maybe for Imelda Marcos and for completely different reasons). This is the second appearance of Charice on Oprah, back in May, Charice performed in Oprah and she said to Oprah that meeting her and performing in Oprah is a dream come true. Word is Celine Dion and Whitney Houston is also apearing live on the show, with the possible addition of Mariah Carey!! These will be like GAY HEAVEN come true! LOL. No occasion that i remember had the 3 superstars been in one room together. I doubt the Mariah part though since she has a full schedule and (lovelife) for her new album. Meanwhile on Harpo Productions, Oprah’s company, Harpo is Oprah spelled backwards in case you didn’t notice, had all the praises for Charice:

Charice Pempengco wowed Las Vegas when she performed with Producer/Musician David Foster, in his one-night tribute concert, David Foster & Friends on May 23, 2008 which featured Andrea Bocelli, Michael Buble and Josh Groban, artists under his own record label, 143 Records, at the Mandalay Bay Events Center on the Las Vegas Strip. David Foster has worked as a producer with the likes of Céline Dion, Barbra Streisand, Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston, among others..

David Foster is reportedly managing Charice’s US carreer. In the concert, David Foster proclaimed that she will only be simply called as “Charice” just as world famous divas as Madonna (?!), Cher and Celine are famously known. Charice did not forget her Filipino heritage, she asked at one point, in Tagalog (Filipino) if there were Filipinos in the audience. Charice Pempengco sang I will Always Love You and And I am Tellin’ You (I’m Not Going) to the standing ovation of the audience in MGM Grand. Josh Groban hailed Charice as one of the most beautiful voices he has ever heard of all time. (Wow, amazing, but i think you Josh Groban has one of the most amazing voices too!)

Whitney Houston back from rehab, performed her hit single Heartbreak Hotel in Live and Loud 2007 held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It is part of Whitney’s plan to get her comeback back on track.
