Another juicy item coming out of the ABS-CBN compound is that TV Patrol World anchor Karen Davila is to be removed daw. Karen Davila is to be axed daw in all the ABS-CBN News and Current Affairs department programs she is hosting or is a part of because allegedly Karen Davila is a “spy” for GMA News and Current Affairs, the rival network and department of ABS-CBN. But isn’t it like years now that Karen Davila is with ABS-CBN? The rumors also pointed to an alleged angling by former TV Patrol anchor Korina Sanchez to again be the lone female anchor of the now called TV Patrol World.

Karen Davila used to work and anchor GMA News and Current Affairs department programs. She allegedly transferred to ABS-CBN to “reunite” with her husband, an employee of ABS-CBN News and Current Affairs. Oh well, TV News and Current Affairs departments are like the Showbiz world din! Full of innuendos and intrigues..

UPDATE: ABS-CBN just announced that Karen Davila will not be removed (yet, hehe) because her contract with ABS-CBN is until the end of 2008. And so Karen Davila will still anchor TV Patrol World and her Saturday morning show, Wonder Mom will even be increased from its current 30 minute running time to a full hour show. Meanwhile, Ms. Luchi Cruz-Valdez, the news production and current affairs head of ABS-CBN, has been placed under preventive suspension pending the outcome of an internal matter.

ABS-CBN ruled the August 2008 NUTAM Ratings. ABS-CBN Kapamilya shows dominated their respective timeslots. NUTAM is the Natiowide (Philippines) TV Ratings measurement that is released monthly and measures the average nationwide TV Ratings for an entire month. This nationwide based TV ratings survey is conducted by AGB Nielsen Philippines among NUTAM households.

The finale week of Pinoy Idol topped the ratings last weekend. Eat Bulaga! despite the seeming domination of Wowowee in the internet forums, topped the ratings game in the weekdays and weekend ratings. Surprisingly, ABS-CBN’s ASAP ‘08 topped the daytime weekend race for two weeks in a row now, a rare occurrence.

The Philippines TV Ratings for the entire month of June 2008, yes, Nationwide tabulation (NUTAM), saw Dyesebel taking a slight edge over May 2008’s no. 1, The Singing Bee. Special event presentations, the Pacquiao vs. Diaz fight got a whopping 46% audience share topping the weekend daytime ratings race while Paalam Daboy 1952-2008 (the GMA 7 Coverage), topped the weekday daytime programs. Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition Plus: The Big Night also got a very large ratings/audience share that even its offshoot, Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition Plus: The Big Reunion placed no. 2 in the top weekend primetime programs. Could this be a sign that Judy Ann Santos star power has been diminished by her “System’s Loss TV Commercials?” Her supposed first major tv appearance and a formal announcement of her engagement to Ryan Agoncillo in Sharon Cuneta’s Sunday show, Sharon, only made it to no.7 in the ratings. The Ryan Agoncillo, Judy Ann Santos appearance in Sharon has been regularly plugged in almost all the tv shows of ABS-CBN from morning till night, in short, it was heavily promoted, but despite it, it only landed a dismal 7th.
