Hala, ang title!…lol..Well, i was suppose to write about ABS-CBN news anchor and Umagang Kay Ganda host, Bernadette Sembrano getting hitched last June 12, 2008, Philippine Independence Day, to one of the Philippine Independence’s illustrious descendant, Kawit, Cavite vice mayor Emilio “Orange” Aguinaldo IV, great-grandson of the late former President Emilio Aguinaldo, who declared Philippine Independence in Kawit. The wedding was held at Chapel on the Hill in Nasugbu, Batangas.

Yes, Bernadette Sembrano is not new to scandals. Only, her name was used in the lewd photo scandal but it was not really her but sexy star Ynez Veneracion. The showbiz intriga then, this happened in 2004 (!), was that before becoming a respected broadcast journalist, Bernadette posed naked in a painting session by artists from the University of the Philippines. It turned that the photo was photoshopped and her face was put in place of actress Ynez Veneracion’s body who actually did pose for the nude art session.

Angel Locsin graced the opening of Folded and Hung in TriNoma on June 21. Of course, she was mobbed in the mall. I actually got an invite but i didn’t go, because i will be mobbed too, just kidding.. In the invitation they sent out Angel Locsin is seen with no top on and is presented as the newest endorser of the Filipino fashion brand (See photo below). Angel Locsin replaced Claudine Barretto as endorser of Folded and Hung while of course the big showbiz intriga is that rival Marian Rivera replaced Angel Locsin in her Jag Jeans endorsement.

Meanwhile, Becky Aguila, Angel Locsin’s manager said, “I just want to make it clear that Angel is not competing with Marian. She minds her own business. For whatever commercial projects Marian’s been getting, I’m sure Angel is happy for her.

O dabah! How sincere, lol..She said it before Lobo ended. Becky further explained that, “Angel right now is so engrossed and concentrated in Lobo. She doesn’t have the time to dwell on petty issues being thrown at her. Intrigues are part of showbiz life. What matters the most is the network and advertisers’ trust and confidence with Angel. Management’s [ABS-CBN] highly satisfied with her performance in Lobo. Happy rin sila sa commercial loads ng Lobo.”

In what looked like a battle for how many stars will show up to support their camp. Lolit Solis also had her stable of stars Alfred Vargas, Paolo Contis and Yasmien Kurdi for support. Actor Mark Herras also wanted to come personally but was prevented by previous commitments.

Originally, Lolit Solis wanted actors Yul Servo, Eric Quizon and Rustom Padilla as witnesses for her. In her rejoinder-affidavit to the reply-affidavits of actors Sam Milby and Piolo Pascual in the libel case filed by the two against her, Lolit Solis said in her affidavit that “there is nothing libelous about my article.

“I merely narrated in my article that I saw the two men “nagbubulungan” and as they are “nagbubulungan,” it obviously follows that ‘halos magkadikit na nga ang mga pisngi nila. I saw them with my own eyes… I have no reason to fabricate a story. I carry no grudge against any of the complainants.”

Nowhere in the article daw that she said that Sam Milby and Piolo Pascual are gay or homosexuals or that both are engaged in “homosexual activities.”

Lolit Solis also questioned that the affidavit of the witnesses presented by Sam Milby and Piolo Pascual, namely by, Angel Locsin, Rica Peralejo, Cristy Fermin, Pokwang, several employees of Toni and Guy Salon and Timex, and two members of the general public who felt affected by the article, were filed belatedly when it could have been made when they filed their original libel complaint.

“The length of time that lapsed before presenting their testimonies casts serious doubts as to the reliability and authenticity of the claims of these witnesses. It was very convenient for the complainants because they had more than enough time to set their story straight and go shopping for witnesses. It was also readily apparent that these witnesses are either people under their employ/pay, or close associates and employees belonging to their home network [ABS-CBN].

“Their testimonies therefore carry very little weight for being biased and self-serving.”
