Danny Noriega and Ramiele Malubay

American Idol Season 7 finalist Ramiele Malubay and semi-finalist (?) Danny Noriega will be in Manila, Philippines on December 20 and 21 for Ogie Alcasid’s Birthday Concert at the Aliw Theater. Reportedly, it is not actually just a birthday concert for Ogie Alcasid but a back to back concert with Ramiele Malubay that’s why the show’s title is ” Ogie Sings With the Idols” and apart from Ramiele Malubay, Danny Noriega will also be a guest performer and incidentally Danny is Ramiele’s BFF. Also performing is the very first Pinoy Idol, Gretchen Espina and Pinoy Idol finalist Robby Navarro.

Ramiele Malubay, reportedly, aside from the concert, will be signing a record deal with a local record company.

American Idol Season 7 is over and the winners had been chosen. On The American Idol Finale, surprisingly it was David Cook who won and as it turned out, David Cook won by a big margin. American Idol’s Season 7 was one of the most memorable editions of the hit reality show. Who can forget that Filipina Ramiele Malubay made it on the Top 10 from the hundreds of thousands who auditioned including the hilarious Renaldo Lapuz. Also, there were the great artists who performed and mentored the Idol contestants such as Mariah Carey, Neil Diamond, Dolly Parton, Leona Lewis, among others.

Memorable highlights was that performance by David Archuleta of the John Lennon original, “Imagine” and David Cook’s take on “Always Be My Baby” by Mariah Carey. Or how Syesha Mercado played it smart by reinventing herself every step of the way. Not to mention how Kristy Lee Cook managed to stay on by singing “God Bless The USA.”

Currently the American Idol Season 7 Top 10 contestants are on tour. Here’s your chance to see your favorite idols again. Ramiele Malubay rants

A blog entry allegedly written by American Idol finalist Ramiele Malubay the day after Ramiele Malubay was eliminated from American Idol 7, was posted in Ramiele Malubay myspace blog, with accusations of vote-rigging and discrimination from American Idol staffers. Here’s what the alleged Ramiele Malubay had posted in myspace:

“I am so sad on what happened but not because of the people’s decision, but what the staff told us. Please do not send me messages until I finish my statement.

“I am still here in California, by the way please vote for David Cook to be the 7th American Idol, I know he will, let’s pray for him, inspirational songs for next week, and I chose heal our land but I can not sing that anymore.”

After that, the entry revealed that a technical glitch on the voting system of American Idol was found out. “There are news from people here in USA who were mad, cause they were dialing my number but instead of thank you for voting Ramiele, it was thank you for voting other’s name.

“Technical problem. This problem is the same as on the case of Chris Daughtry.”

Chris Daughtry was in the final four of the fifth season of American Idol. While Idol judge Simon Cowell said he thought Katherine McPhee would be eliminated, the turnout of votes revealed otherwise. When it was announced that Chris was eliminated, he was obviously surprised with the result.”

Aside from this technical concern, the Ramiele Malubay blog entry also talked about the way they choose the songs that they are going to perform and how it also affects the voters.

The entry read, “You know every week we have theme, and they told that few weeks before that week. They gave us list of songs and we choose our song, but sometimes you can hear from some staffs, `Oh it’s not for you try to sing fast songs’ and they called me “lullaby” instead of Malubay.

“The staff also arranged the songs and most of the times judges didn’t like it, and they told us about the blocking like when I performed “In My Life,” Simon didn’t like the stair drama.

“In the case of Brooke, they told Brooke not to use guitar but she insisted it and she had a wonderful job.”

The Ramiele Malubay blog entry also pointed out that American Idol hypes up some issues to get a good rating. One example was the case of David Hernandez, who turned out to be a former stripper.

“The pilot episode’s rating was lower than season 6, and they make some noise, and they won. What noise? The stripper issue, the racy photos which are not, the my space video, the album of Carly Smithson, etc.

“Josiah Lemming, one of the semi-finalists in American Idol Season 7 was mad  at American Idol because we know he deserves to be on top 6, cause they pick those who would make noise.”

“David Archuleta won Star Search, Alexandria Lushington and David Archuleta made a noise cause they were co-semi finalist in that said show, Syesha Mercado was the one in the US version of Star Academy.”

“Ramiele Malubay” explained that she was expecting that her blog could be suspended after she published all these information.

“Few hours after the result’s night I made a blog that tells everything I know what happened on my myspace where Mr. Damian Grass of Associated Press used my blog for those racy photos.

“If you can help me please put on your blog all the things that I said. Chris Daughtry of American Idol 5 was disappointed cause of the technical problem, and look what happened to Taylor Hicks and Chris Daughtry. That’s why AI showed some clips about post idol life.”

Ramiele Malubay then announced that she is set to come to the Philippines for Pinoy Idol. “Good thing is there are offers, I’ll be there in Philippines for Pinoy Idol, and hopefully in ABS-CBN with a pinoy who won sa isang reality show sa Europe, I think he will be in “Altagracia” with KC Concepcion and John Lloyd Cruz.”

Chikezie voted off American Idol

March 27, 2008 · Filed Under Chikezie · 1 Comment
Chikezie or Chikezie Eze the only African American guy to reach top 10 in American Idol 7 this season was voted off Wednesday on American Idol.

Chikezie born on 1985, sang “If Only For One Night” by Luther Vandross. Chikezie, 22, of Inglewood, Calif., injected his own name, Chikezie, in every way it is possible to inject Chikezie, in every performance. But Wednesday is to be the last time Chikezie will not be able to continue interjecting the name Chikezie on performance night.

The others in the bottom three, were Jason Castro and Syesha Mercado. I’m surprised since one of the biggest audience of American Idol is actually the African-American community, and the bottom three consisted of two, of African-American descent, Chikezie and Syesha Mercado, with the eventual goner, Chikezie, who is African-American.

I guess the audience of American Idol 7 is colorblind this time, choosing musical ability rather than just their race. Filipina Ramiele Malubay is safe for now. But Kristy Lee Cook must go but she was very clever choosing the very patriotic God Bless America, how wise!

Here’s Chikezie with his goodbye song, “If Only For One Night” ..his wish was granted:
