La Lola is an Argentine hit romantic/fantasy/comedy tv series that has now become a worldwide phenomenom like Betty La Fea, and now it’s the Philippines turn to have one. La Lola is the story of a playboy business magnate who scorned the wrong woman and was turned into a woman for his mistakes. The Philippine La Lola is Rhian Ramos while her love interest is the hottie JC De Vera playing Facundo. La Lola premieres on GMA Monday, Oct. 13 after Dyesebel. Also starring in La Lola are Lovi Poe, Marky Cielo, Marvin Agustin, Angelika Dela Cruz, Paolo Contis, Keempee De Leon, Gladys Reyes, JayR, Sheena Halili, Yul Servo, Robert Villar, Ms. Jackie Lou Blanco, Ms. Eula Valdez, and Mr. Eddie Garcia, with the special participation of Iza Calzado, Isabel Granada, Jewel Mische and Wendell Ramos as “Lalo.” La Lola is directed by Dominic Zapata and Jun Lana. According to director Dominic Zapata, the cast of La Lola is the biggest high-caliber powerhouse cast he has handled so far.

Cosmo Hunks 2008 or the Cosmo Centerfold Hunks, as usual was into the classy and sexy photoshoot type with one exception, Bruce Quebral! He showed some revealing hair down under and with just a towel to hold his manhood. Jon Avila is okay. The other Centerfold Hunks Derek Ramsey, Geoff Eigenmann, Akihiro Sato, Paolo Contis and Billy Crawford were just average in the skin baring department. If you look at the resulting Paolo Contis centerfold photo and have seen the news report on GMA, you will definitely feel cheated because in the photo shoot, Paolo Contis was wearing board shorts!! Mega dissapointed too with Derek Ramsey, everyone has seen his bulky build above the waist for the longest time already ( as in from the time he joined Philippine showbiz, he was practically shirtless!), why cut the photo then to that level..Anyway, as the usual spiel, it is better to buy the magazine, not only are the photos clearer, you’ll never know when it will come handy ( no pun intended ). Also, there’s the rest of the 69 Most Eligible Bachelors of the Philippines too, complete with their photos.

GMA Kapuso Network is preparing its rainy season, school opening assault with its rival network, ABS-CBN with 5 new, big-budgeted tv shows. Leading the pack is Survivor Philippines hosted by Paolo Bediones with 3 Million Pesos in prize money and a logistical hurdle with a shoot in an exotic location outside the Philippines.

Ako si Kim Sam Soon, topbilled by Asia’s Songbird, Regine Velasquez. Ako Si Kim Sam Soon is the Pinoy remake of the hit koreanovela, My Name Is Kim Sam Soon. Ako si Kim Sam Soon is a romatic-comedy show, also starring Mark Anthony Fernandez as her leading man, Eugene Domingo, John Lapus, Carmi Martin, Nadine Samonte, Hayden Kho, Jr., Tessie Tomas, Franchesca Salcedo, Wendell Ramos, Sheena Halili, Jennica Garcia, Mart Escudero, LJ Reyes, Pauleen Luna, Marky Lopez, Arthur Solinap, Vangie Labalan, Maureen Larrazabal, Cheska Garcia and Kevin Santos. Ako si Kim Sam Soon is to replace Babangon Ako’t Dudurugin Kita. Regine Velasquez also topbills the variety show recently moved to a Saturday time slot, Songbird.

Another GMA Kapuso soon to be offering is Codename:Asero starring Richard Gutierrez, now being dubbed as The Super Idol of Philippine Cinema. Codename: Asero is an action-drama series also starring Michael V., Richard Gomez, Janno Gibbs, Caridad Sanchez, Ramon Christopher, Ehra Madrigal, Bubbles Paraiso, Rhian Ramos, Elvis Gutierrez, Rocky Gutierrez and Paolo Contis. Codename:Asero is to replace Joaquin Bordado.

GMA is also giving another shot at the recent macho dancing star, Dennis Trillo. Dennis Trillo will star in the Spiderman inspired, Gagambito. Gagambino is a former Carlo Caparas komiks novel. Producers emphasized this is very much different from an earlier Vhong Navarro starrer, Gagamboy.

And finally getting her big break via a Primetime TV starrer is the always controversial Rhian Ramos. Rhian Ramos is the star of La Lola. Lalola is originally an Argentine telenovela. The story is basically that of a womanizer who became a woman by a spell cast on him. In short, Rhian Ramos is to play a man who became a woman. Rhian Ramos leading man in La Lola is JC de Vera.

Recently, Rhian Ramos cried foul over the negative issues and rumors against her in the internet.

In what looked like a battle for how many stars will show up to support their camp. Lolit Solis also had her stable of stars Alfred Vargas, Paolo Contis and Yasmien Kurdi for support. Actor Mark Herras also wanted to come personally but was prevented by previous commitments.

Originally, Lolit Solis wanted actors Yul Servo, Eric Quizon and Rustom Padilla as witnesses for her. In her rejoinder-affidavit to the reply-affidavits of actors Sam Milby and Piolo Pascual in the libel case filed by the two against her, Lolit Solis said in her affidavit that “there is nothing libelous about my article.

“I merely narrated in my article that I saw the two men “nagbubulungan” and as they are “nagbubulungan,” it obviously follows that ‘halos magkadikit na nga ang mga pisngi nila. I saw them with my own eyes… I have no reason to fabricate a story. I carry no grudge against any of the complainants.”

Nowhere in the article daw that she said that Sam Milby and Piolo Pascual are gay or homosexuals or that both are engaged in “homosexual activities.”

Lolit Solis also questioned that the affidavit of the witnesses presented by Sam Milby and Piolo Pascual, namely by, Angel Locsin, Rica Peralejo, Cristy Fermin, Pokwang, several employees of Toni and Guy Salon and Timex, and two members of the general public who felt affected by the article, were filed belatedly when it could have been made when they filed their original libel complaint.

“The length of time that lapsed before presenting their testimonies casts serious doubts as to the reliability and authenticity of the claims of these witnesses. It was very convenient for the complainants because they had more than enough time to set their story straight and go shopping for witnesses. It was also readily apparent that these witnesses are either people under their employ/pay, or close associates and employees belonging to their home network [ABS-CBN].

“Their testimonies therefore carry very little weight for being biased and self-serving.”
