Loren Legarda for Glutathione, Ping Lacson for Botox

Saw this Sen. Loren Legarda billboard along EDSA endorsing Lucida-DS glutathione, a whitening capsule cum food supplement. Saw also this Sen. Ping Lacson ad endorsing Facial Care Centre for Men which i guess among others promote botox treatment and other facial skin enhancements and treatments. The problem is, these endorsers are politicians/presidentiables and not really movie or television personalities. These pols maybe celebrities in their own right but what if their endorsements are a subject of some controversy like in the case of Lucida-DS when ABS-CBN veteran broadcast journalist Korina Sanchez, reporting about Lucida-DS not having enough actual glutathione content as oppose to the indicateded glutathione amount being sold..btw, Korina Sanchez boyfriend, Sen. Mar Roxas is also a declared presidentiable in 2010.

I guess the name of the game in Philippine politics is not about substance, it is all about image and media mileage. All about name recall, no matter how to earn it. In a country in love with celebrity, i am not surprised though…but i hope politicians show us a better example/way..
