Diether Ocampo

Diether Ocampo transfers to GMA 7 after being with the rival ABS-CBN Network for a longtime. Diether Ocampo just starred in the recently concluded hit ABS-CBN Primetime soap, Iisa Pa Lamang opposite Claudine Barretto, Gabby Concepcion, and Angelika Panganiban. Diether Ocampo signed a long term contract with the Kapuso Network and is expected to land the lead role in the Philippine remake of the hit Koreanovela, “All About Eve.”

Reportedly, it was Diether Ocampo himself who offered his services to GMA 7 and introduced himself as an “independent artist.” ABS-CBN and GMA 7 are bitter rivals with both networks constantly on the lookout for talents they can easily pirate.

Dingdong Dantes and Karylle

Karylle Tatlonghari or simply Karylle admitted in The Buzz last Sunday that she fell out of love with boyfriend of three years, Dingdong Dantes. When Karylle was asked if she still loved Dingdong, Karylle said, “Hindi na.”

Karylle also admitted her breakup with Dingdong Dantes went through a process. “It was a mutual decision. Hindi siya nangyari overnight so matagal siya na proseso kasi siyempre hindi ka naman magigising bigla na lang tapos sasabihin mo, ay break na tayo.

Hindi ko naman made-deny na nasaktan ako. Pero ang nangyari naman kasi talaga pinagdaanan ko lahat ng stages ng isang breakup na may denial, may hurt, may bargaining, tapos may acceptance. At this point, nandito na ako sa acceptance. Natanggap ko na ang lahat ng nangyari kasi sa bawat na masakit na nangyayari, may magandang naidudulot.

Kasi sa pagmamahal, wala namang regrets. Basta nagmahal ka, nagmahal ka ng totoo, yun lang naman yun eh. Kung mag-work out man o hindi, wala na sa kamay ko yon.”

And although Karylle says she does not love Dingdong Dantes anymore, to forget Dingdong Dantes she turns to her Showbiz career. Karylle said her career is now her top priority, “Right now kasi yung focus ko nasa pagtrabaho lang. Hindi ko na masyadong iniisip ngayon kung ano ba yung iniisip niya (Dingdong) o mararamdaman niya kasi as of now para maging maayos naman yung buhay ko, isipin ko muna yung trabaho ko.”

Karylle and Dingdong Dantes

Karylle transfers to ABS-CBN after spending some time in the GMA Kapuso Network. This came after the confirmation of her rumored breakup with long-time boyfriend, Dingdong Dantes. Karylle’s new management company, STAGES, has taken over talent management duties for the singer, and one of it’s first major move is to transfer Karylle to ABS-CBN. With her imminent transfer, ABS-CBN has lined up projects for Karylle already including appearing in ABS-CBN’s musical variety shows and soap operas. Karylle is also set to record a new album and to reprise her critically-acclaimed portrayal of Maria in “West Side Story.”

Reportedly, Karylle’s transfer has the blessings of top GMA-7 executives Wilma Galvante and Darling de Jesus. But before her ABS-CBN transfer, Karylle will still be seen on GMA 7, in such shows as ‘SOP,’ ‘Kakasa Ka Ba sa Grade 5,’ and her singing the Philippine National Anthem at the Manny Pacquiao-Oscar de la Hoya boxing match in Las Vegas, Nevada on December 6, which will be telecast exclusively in the Philippines by GMA 7.

Aljur Abrenica

Kapuso stars Richard Gutierrez and Aljur Abrenica had an altercation last October 17, at the posh Fiamma Bar in Makati City. The incident happened right after the ‘Experience GMA Show’ where the Kapuso stars, dressed to the nines, appeared as part of the inauguration of the 1 Billion-Peso GMA Network Studios.

Both stars are GMA’s prized possessions. Richard Gutierrez is known as GMA’s Primetime King while Aljur Abrenica is StarStruck’s Ultimate Hunk winner and was part of the no. 1 Primetime show, Dyesebel.

Eyewitnesses recounted that they saw Richard Gutierrez having a nice time with friends in a table. Sometime later, Aljur Abrenica entered the bar escorting young actress Jewel Mische, the StarStruck Batch 4 Ultimate Sweetheart and was rumored to have had a romantic relationship with Richard.

That was the time that the reported altercation of Richard with Aljur happened. Eyewitnesses saw distinctly how Richard gave Aljur’s head a short, quick slap. “Tinapik ni Richard si Aljur sa ulo!”

Aljur reportedly turned around, faced Richard, and demanded to know, “Ano ang problema mo?” Richard reportedly shot back, “Ikaw, ano ang problema mo?”

Nothing more untoward happened though as cooler heads intervened at just the right time.

Richard Gutierrez’ camp had released this statement to shed light on the alleged altercation:

Richard does not deny that there was some hostility between him and Aljur. In fact, he admits telling Aljur to “leave the table,” although Richard says he did this “politely.”

Richard denies, however, that he hit Aljur, even if he says he found Aljur distinctly lacking in “social graces.” Richard alleges that Aljur “barged in” on him and his friends, sat down, and drank with them when he was clearly “uninvited.”

Richard Gutierrez himself had this to say about the incident:

“Time management is what stars whose schedules are busy need to master, for it is during these moments of privacy that a star can unwind, relax, and de-stress.

“Unfortunately, however, a star like Mr. Aljur Abrenica, an acquaintance, does not seem to understand that stars need space too, and barging in on our table unexpectedly, sitting down uninvited, and partaking of the drinks freely, does not speak well of a person’s social graces.

“I politely asked him, after a decent time, to leave. That was what the incident was all about.

“Ms. Jewel Mische, if I may correct the report, was not at the Fiamma bar at all. And alas, neither was Ms. Mische the cause of the INVENTED rift.”
