Who is this guy named Randolph? Is he an artista or something? Anyone? Just curious (Original Post-June 9, 2008)…Update: According to my readers, he is Randolph Stamatelaky. He became “famous” for the McDonalds “Pa-Cheeseburger Ka Naman” Commercial, San Mig Light (waiter) with Marian Rivera and Dingdong Dantes in a bar Commercial and now Randolph Stamatelaky appears in Betty La Fea. In a Circle of 10 (2002) Press Release, it says, RANDOLPH STAMATELAKY (aka Randolph Gabriel now being managed by Manny Valera) — SM Star Model 2002 Title Holder, Kung Mawawala Ka, Mossimo Bikini Summit 2002 finalist, Boracay Bodies 2002 2nd runner-up, appeared in Sharon Cuneta’s Crying Ladies, GMA’s Hanggang Kailan and Starstruck. I think Randolph Stamatelaky is now with Star Magic. If he is using Randolph Stamatelaky as his screen name, he better change it to something more easy to pronounce and recall or else risk being forgotten. Imagine a surname like Marian Stamatelaky or Angel Stamatelaky, kung sumikat, LOL.

Nicole Uysiuseng debut

Nicole Uysiuseng debut

Nicole Uysiuseng of Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition 2nd Season celebrated her 18th Birthday Party with a Hawaiian theme. It’s something unique for a debut party and i find it trendy, funky and fun! Debut party’s should have variety like this. After all, at 18, one shouldn’t be too rigid and traditional. The other PBB Teen winner Kim Chiu held her debut though in regal fashion deserving a princess, check out the Kim Chiu debut. The post still gets a fair amount of traffic, coming from people who wants to get some inspiration for their own debut party. So i eventhough the Nicole Uysiuseng debut was held late last month, i thought of featuring that too to give some more debut ideas for others who could adopt it to their personalities. BTW, this is the debut party where Nicole Uysiuseng’s other loveteam partner Robi Domingo was not invited and only other loveteam partner Josef Elizalde was invited.

Nicole Uysiuseng is developing a very good film and tv career. Good for the Cebuana lass, she deserves it. She could rival Kim Chiu in a matter of months if she played her cards right and with a good support from handlers and “the” studio.

Kahit Isang Saglit Flop?

Jericho Rosales and Carmen Soo

Jericho Rosales and Carmen Soo

Kahit Isang Saglit debuted last week and its ratings where nowhere seen on the Top Ten. The Jericho Rosales and Carmen Soo starrer also had its share of bad luck when it was being shot. Its original director Manong Gilbert Perez died while filming it. Kahit Isang Saglit is produced jointly by ABS-CBN-Star Cinema Productions and a Malaysian production venture Double Vision. It is actually a pity because i have seen the soap and i think it has very good cinematography that felt like you’re watching a movie. I guess the reason why it did not rate well is the dialogue/languange part. The English dialogue’s should have been dubbed, although i don’t see any point about it (LOL) since Carmen Soo is suppose to be (and grew up) from Malaysia with a Pinoy father. Who knows, its ratings could recover in the next few days though with the able support of PBB Teens Nicole Uysiuseng, Robi Domingo, and Valerie Weignmann.

Nora Aunor in Himala

Nora Aunor in Himala

The original and legendary Superstar, Nora Aunor classic film Himala, is being considered as an Asian film classic of all time by CNN UK. CNN-UK’s provisional list of Greatest Asian Films of All Time lists Himala as one of the best ever made Asian film. Himala is a Tagalog or Filipino word which means miracle. One of the lines in Himala has become part of Philippine mainstream society what with all the impersonators and stand up comics mimicking Nora Aunor’s delivery of the line, “Walang Himala!”..LOL. Himala is a must see for everyone especially for those who have not watched it yet. Better watch it now, go search for a copy, you’re missing half of your Philippine Showbiz life by not being able to watch it. Nora Aunor won numerous Best Actress awards for Himala in the Philippines and abroad and the movie itself has also won countless Best Film awards. Himala is produced by then First Daughter Rep. Imee Marcos under the Experimental Cinema of the Philippines. Himala featured unknown actors (then) except Nora Aunor who was then an established icon in Philippine Cinema. The film’s story is based on an account of the alleged apparitions of the Virgin Mary on Cabra Island in 1967. It is written by Ricky Lee and directed by one of Philippine Cinema’s great directors, Ishmael Bernal. Nora Aunor is no longer active in Philippine Showbiz and now lives in the US.
