Krista Ranillo starred in the indie film, Paupahan, where she drew flak from her own father, actor Mat Ranillo III for doing a sexy role. Mat Ranillo III apparently came to terms with his non approval after attending the premiere showing of Paupahan. Matt Ranillo III reportedly does not approve of this FHM Philippines cover story of Krista Ranillo.

Marian Rivera was proclaimed the Philippines Sexiest Filipina of 2008 by FHM Philippines. FHM Philippines is the no.1 men’s magazine in the Philippines with 60% of the market. The Sexiest Filipina 2008 search is an annual poll chosen by the people thru online, text and actual balloting in several events. Marian Rivera came from a lower ranking last year to bolt into the top spot courtesy of two no. 1 primetime tv shows.

After all the controversy fans of Marian Rivera and Angel Locsin, in the end FHM Philippines revealed that it was no contest after all. The results of the Sexiest Filipina poll thru text, ballot and online voting showed that Marian Rivera garnered a total of 316, 135 votes, while Katrina Halili, two-time winner of FHM 100 Sexiest, landed the second spot with 123, 239 votes. Angel Locsin, who won as sexiest Pinay in 2005, came only third with 121, 388 votes.

FHM Philippines editor-in-chief Alan Madrilejos also disclosed that Marian Rivera commanded a large lead in online and text votes, while Katrina Halili topped the ballot-voting category. Meanwhile, Angel Locsin did not top any category.

That is the story of the day. Allegedly, the GMA talents came victorious because of an enthusiastic campaign from the GMA management itself. Employees and talents alike were given 300 pesos load to vote for Marian Rivera, as reported in by several movie columnists.

Meanwhile, Dingdong Dantes, Marian’s leading man in the hit Primetime TV Show, Dyesebel, even before the results were announced, had made known his preference that Marian should be the number one sexiest Filipina in the FHM annual poll. “She deserves it because she worked hard for it,” hot hunk Dingdong Dantes said.

The June 2008 issue of FHM Philippines featured two covers and two sets of photos of Ehra Madrigal. Ehra Madrigal is also in the running for the Sexiest Woman of the Philippines 2008 which reportedly Marian Rivera already got the title..Ehra Madrigal first posed for FHM Philippines in 2006..

Incidentally, Ehra’s younger sister, Michelle Madrigal is also in the running for the Sexiest Filipinas of 2008.

Krista Ranillo is back in Philippine Showbiz after finishing Interdisciplinary Studies major in Communications and Psychology at no less than the Ateneo de Manila University where she is a consistent Dean’s Lister. Isn’t it ironic though that after finishing with those honors in Ateneo she has to just go sexy in the movies..Reportedly, her father, actor Mat Ranillo III cried and oppose her going the sexy route.

Anyway, Krista Ranillo stars in the indie movie, “Paupahan” produced by sexy actor Allen Dizon. Paupahan also stars Ms. Gloria Romero, Snooky Serna, Jay Manalo, Angelu de Leon, and Allen; with Joseph Bitangcol, Kirby de Jesus, and German Moreno. With the special participation of Richard Quan, Dexter Doria, Michelle Estevez, Lou Veloso, Benjie Felipe, Lito “Shalala” Reyes. Krista went topless in the movie.

“When Paupahan was offered, I got scared a bit because it was daring. But I saw that it was an acting piece, maganda ang script and impressive ang all-star cast. Kumbaga, being daring was part of the role. It was a good comeback project. Depende naman sa script and character yung pagiging daring,” Krista explained.
