Rhian Ramos debut party was held at the Rigodon Ballroom of the Manila Peninsula Hotel, October 3. The glittering and starstudded Rhian Ramos debut was made possible courtesy of GMA-7. Rhian Ramos was only aware of the 18 Roses, her birthday cake and some preparations for the event but she did not know that GMA made a lot of surprises to make her debut party a memorable and glitzy one. Rhian Ramos had 10 gowns to chose from made by designer Ramon Sabella. From the ten, she chose 3, two white gowns and a red gown to match the motif of her debut which is red and white. Sabella is also being endorsed by Rhian.

As part of the traditional debut party is the 18 Roses. Rhian’s British dad, Mr. Gareth Howell is her first dance, as per tradition. Followed by Richard Gomez, Paolo Paraiso, Mark Herras, Marky Cielo, Mart Escudero, Mike Tan, Dion Ignacio, Victor Aliwalas, Aljur Abrenica, Mark Bautista, Simon Atkins, among others. Richard Gutierrez was part of the 18 Roses dance but Richard Gutierrez was in Europe at that time on a promo tour with KC Concepcion.

Incidentally, Simon Atkins is rumored to be Rhian Ramos boyfriend. Simon Atkins is a basketball cager cum model from Dela Salle University.

“Si Simon kasi, magkaibigan na kami noong high school pa kami sa De La Salle-St. Benilde. Hanggang sa nagkaroon na kami ng kanya-kanyang careers, we’ve been in touch. Lately lang kami hindi nakapag-communicate because pareho kaming naging busy. Simon naman is not my boyfriend. We’re very good friends noon at hanggang ngayon naman. I’m just so happy na nakarating siya and he was part of my 18 roses dance.”

A special song number was also made to Rhian by her mom, Mrs. Clara Ramos-Howell. Mrs. Howell sang “Not While I’m Around.” Rhian’s sister Nadine also was around to help in the debut.

There were the 18 questions as well. Select members of the Press and Rhian’s colleagues and friends were given the privilege to ask Rhian a question. ‘Nakakakaba because hindi ko naman alam ang isasagot ko sa mga tanong nila, lalo na doon sa mga personal questions. Para tuloy akong nagkaroon ng press conference. But I guess, nasagot ko naman nang maayos lahat. Though yung iba, talagang nabulul-bulol ako sa pagsagot. I tried to be so honest with my answers at nagustuhan naman ng mga bisita ko ang mga sinagot ko sa mga questions,’ Rhian Ramos said in the aftermath of her debut.

A special dance number composed of the cast of Rhian Ramos’ first primetime solo starrer, La Lola, delighted Rhian and her La Lola co-star JC de Vera also served as her escort for her debut.

“Request ko rin talaga na si JC ang maging escort ko because he’s my new leading man in our new show. Okey naman kami ni JC because nagkatrabaho na kami noong Captain Barbell days pa. So it’s really a welcome change that I work with him in La Lola,” Rhian said.

Rhian Ramos had many wishes as she turned 18. “Birthday Wish? Well, ang wish ko na magkaroon ako ng isang celebration with the kids of Child’s House ay matutupad ulit. I’m going there in a few days kasi I always celebrate my birthday by doing charity work for them.

“Another wish of mine na makatrabaho si Robin Padilla ay natupad because of our movie, Sundo. Tapos na siya at malapit na siyang ipalabas this October din. And, of course, this show na La Lola na talagang pinaganda namin because ang gagaling ng mga kasama ko rito.

“Isa pang wish na natupad is that my family is complete on my birthday. My dad is here to celebrate with all of us. I’m looking forward for more celebrations na kumpleto kami.

“Siguro ang isang wish ko na lang na hindi pa natutupad ay ang matapos ko na ang aking high school. God knows how hard I try to really attend my school work, but because of the work schedules, hindi ko matapus-tapos. But I promise myself na I will do what it takes para maka-graduate ako sa high school.”
