The Philippine Movie Press Club (PMPC) announced the nominees of the 24th Star Awards For
Movies 2008, to be held on June 27, in the Henry Lee Irwin Theater, Ateneo De Manila University, Quezon City. The late Rudy Fernandez will be awarded a posthumous Ulirang Artista Lifetime
Achievement Award.

Here’s the list of nominees:

Movie Actor of the Year:

Movie Actress of the Year:
Ai-Ai delas Alas (Ang Cute ng Ina Mo), Bea Alonzo (One More Chance), Cherry Pie Picache (Foster Child), Judy Ann Santos (Sakal, Sakali, Saklolo), Maricel Soriano (A Love Story), and Lorna Tolentino (Katas ng Saudi).

Dingdong Dantes, Allan K, Luis Manzano, Diether Ocampo, and Regine Velasquez.

The 24th Star Awards for Movies will be shown via delayed telecast on ABS-CBN 2’s “Sunday’s Best” on Sunday, June 29 at 10 PM.

Hahaha..of course i am joking..Pierce Brosnan is not 90 years old..but he seems to old already..He was photographed surfing recently, and Pierce Brosnan was looking hot. Pierce Brosnan if again you lived in the boondocks, is James Bond himself..he was famous for starring in several James Bond movies, notable of which is with Malaysian actress, Michelle Yeo in “The World Is Not Enough” where the twin Petronas Towers, which then the highest building(s) in the world. Paula Taylor, a contestant in the recently concluded TARA 2 (The Amazing Race Asia 2) is now the new image model for Filipino fashion brand, Plains & Prints. Gretchen Barretto used to be its image model. Paula Taylor is from Thailand with a British father and a Thai mother, she is an actress and model in Thailand. Paula is being romantically linked with Marc Nelson, member of the Philippine team in TARA2. In the Plains & Prints billboard, which btw is in Guadalupe, the ad said, “An Amazing New Face,” probably alluding to her TARA2 experience. In that billboard Paula Taylor is partially hidden, so much so that you would think it is Filipina actress, Chin Chin Gutierrez.

In The Amazing Race Asia 2, Paula teamed up with her childhood friend Natasha Monks. Team Paula and Natasha finished 5th on the race.

Heart Evangelista right after The Buzz interviewed Jericho Rosales reacted via a phone patch interview with Raymond Gutierrez that the reason she broke-up with Jericho Rosales is because she caught him having an affair with Hollywood actress Briana Evigan (Step Up 2). Jericho and Briana Evigan worked together in the film “I Luv U Virus”.

Well, all i can say is, Sosyal! lol..that’s Briana Evigan dear. An up and coming Hollywood star. She’s slated to do so many A-List movies. And she fell for Jericho Rosales, a Pinoy!

Heart also unknowingly revealed something, she said that, ” Binigay ko lahat lahat sa kanya.”

Leah Dizon is currently one of Japan’s hottest celebrity. Leah Dizon , 20, is the daughter of a French-American mother and an ethnic Chinese Filipino father. She has taken Japan by storm since arriving from the United States late 2006 and now boasts of appearing in commercials for over 10 major companies.

Dizon is currently appearing in Kao Corp.’s Essential shampoo ads, joining a long line of prominent actresses who have plugged the shampoo in the past such as Kumiko Goto, Takako Matsu, Yuko Takeuchi and Chiemi Hori. Such a high profile advertisement in Japan demands that the figure up front have a squeaky clean past, but Dizon’s time in the U.S. is casting clouds over her reputation.

She has pictures taken sticking her butt toward the camera that reveals there is some justification to the claims of exposed genitals, an absolute no-no in Japan. The photo was taken when Dizon was a grid girl in the U.S.

Publication of the shots sparked a flood of pics posted online of Dizon’s American model days, including swimsuit shots and at least one photo of her semi-nude and using only her hands to cover her otherwise exposed breasts.

“There were even photos of her private life posted on the Net, including one of her clinging onto a guy at a party. There’re even rumors of an American guy going around claiming to be a friend of Leah’s and offering to sell some really raunchy pics of her.”

Her success has sparked an amazing number of look-alike actresses turning up in pornographic movies.
