Rustom Padilla wore girl outfit to Urian Awards
Rustom Padilla in drag. Rustom Padilla showed up in the Gawad Urian Awards all made up and dressed as a girl. Rustom Padilla said he dressed up as a girl to also prepare for a role. Of course, that is only a pretense, Rustom Padilla is out and proud to be gay, so i’m sure he relished his girl outfit! Rustom Padilla won as Best Actor in the 2007 Gawad Urian Awards.
The 2008 Gawad Urian Awards Major Winners are: veteran actress Cherry Pie Picache as Best Actress and young actors Jason Abalos and Sid Lucero tied for Best Actor.

Best Music: Francis de Veyra (Tribu)
Best Sound: Ditoy Aguila and Junel Valencia (Tirador)

Natatanging Gawad: Kidlat Tahimik
The Manunuri ng Pelikulang Pilipino gives out the Gawad Urian. The Manunuri ng Pelikulang Pilipino is a society of film critics. The society is currently chaired by Mike Rapatan of the communications department of De La Salle University.

So why make it a big deal?
This is a free country…being gay is not a crime.. Tignan nyo muna sarili nyo bago kayo manghusga ng tao ah…mas nakakhiya yung mga tao na akala mo kugn sino magsalita at mahilig magpuna ng dumi ng iba nde muna tignan yung sarili nilang dungis…inggit lang kayo kasi kayo d nyo kaya maging ganyan kasi wala kayong karapatan simply because panget kayo ..kaya wag na magsour grape or magign bitter..do your thing and if you cant live up with it..:P

As if naman.. Masyado naman yatang naging defensive yung iba dyan. The issue is not about rustom being gay! Ofcourse rustom can do whatever he wants! Buhay nya yon. But certainly that is not an excuse to act that way. Again, the issue is not about homosexuality, gender preference. But this is just to remind everyone that not all people can accept such exhibition of one’s character. Kaya mababa ang tingin ng mga tao sa maraming bading dahil sila na rin ang nagbibigay ng dahilan para di sila irespeto. Hindi ko na itatama ang grammar at tenses ng previous na nag-comment. Sana lang they don’t take it personal. And hopefully, rustom would do the same thing. Hindi lang naman sya ang naaapektuhan.

hindi niya kayo kailangan paligayahin sa pagiging patago ninyo.
so he couldn’t really care less what you think.
i find him more respectable that he can shun possible discrimination
from society in general and even from the closeted factions
of the gay community.
he is out, he is proud and he is LOUD.
respect that. don’t condemn that.
