Ruffa Gutierrez is going through rough times. Actually, not just Ruffa but the entire famous Philippine Showbiz clan, the Gutierrez’es. Her dad, veteran actor Eddie Gutierrez collapsed and was timely saved by an angioplasty procedure. Her mom, the feisty Annabelle Rama has long been diagnosed with myoma in her stomach and is to be operated today at the Asian Medical Center in Alabang.
“Magkakaroon kami ng Holy Mass sa room niya with Fr. Joey Faller officiating. Sa Saturday, habang ginagawa ang procedure sa kanya, magkakaroon kami ng prayer meeting sa room ni Mommy, dadalhin naman ng boss ko, si Ola Espiritu, ang pastor namin.
Na-touched nga ako noong nasa hospital pa si Daddy. Nag-prayer meeting din kami sa room niya, nakita ko si Mommy na nagdasal din siya. Dati kasi, lagi niyang sinasabi na as a Catholic, sa Catholic lang siya. But in times talaga na ganoon, sa Kanya tayo kakapit,” said Ruffa Gutierrez who converted to being a Born-Again Christian from being a Muslim.
In life, dumaraan talaga tayo sa pagsubok, walang perfect sa buhay. Kaya noong nasa hospital si Daddy, I’m thankful na nandoon sina Kuya Tonton (Gutierrez) at Kuya Monching (Ramon Christopher) dahil nasa States nga sina Richard. Ako naman ang taga-update sa kanila kung ano ang nangyayari kay Daddy. Kung during happy times ay magkakasama kami, mas naging close kami nang dumating ang trials na ito. What’s important ngayon, okey na si Daddy at si Mommy naman, gagawin na rin ang procedures sa kanya.”

parang may questionnable sa statement na ito at medyo offending pa. Catholic si Annabelle pero sabi nga ni Ruffa. in times na ganoon talaga sa Kanya (kay God) tayo kakapit. Ano iniimply ni Ruffa, hindi kay God kumakapit ang mga Catholic? Hindi naman kase un-Catholic ang sumama ang isang Catholic sa isang born-again prayer meeting. Besides, nagpre-prayer meeting din naman ang mga Catholics.
I know, medyo OA na mag-react pa ako ng ganito pero I just have to clear up a statement that might give confusion to Catholics. I pray for the wellness of their family.
bago ka mang-question noh check mo muna spelling ng “questionnable” mo noh! your statement is so questionable! bat ka naooffend sa statement ni ruffa malinaw naman na kay god tayo kakapit in times of trouble ah alangan naman kay gloria? binibigyan lang niya ng emphasis si god. ang kitid ng utak mo leche… your so uncatholic! go! as in go to h*ll!

i was just commenting on Ruffa’s statement that implies that Annabelle used to be “Catholic lang sya” so its a surprise that she’ll pray along a born-again’s prayer meeting. i said, it is not surprising nor weird nor wrong for a catholic to join a born-again’s prayer meeting. and the statement “in times na ganoon, sa kanya tayo kakapit”, implies, at least that’s how it sounded to me, that catholics do not usually rely on God but ends up running to Him in times of needs.
hindi naman sa na-offend pero parang meron kaseng subtle o unconscious na message sa sinabi ni ruffa na nilalagay ang paniniwala ng isang catholic in a bad light. again, i might be putting too much meaning, sabi ko nga, nililinaw ko lang.
wala akong galit kay Ruffa at hindi ko rin inaaway. May gusto lang ako i-clarify sa sinabi nya dahil medyo maaaaring makaconfuse.
and i do pray for their wellness.

ibig sabihin lng ni Ruffa na regardless of your religion.. walang catholic, walang born again, walang muslim.. in times of troubles kay GOD tayo kakapit.. ok? nai-intindihan na ba?
TO INDAY_TARATITAT: saying “Go to h*ll” to someone sounds more uncatholic to me. besides, you’re spelling of God isn’t even capitalized in the first place. aren’t you supposed to learn that, i mean in elementary? a grade schooler knows that and im so surprised you dont.

well GOD knows the genuinity hearts of prayerful person, lers all face it there are prayers that are just prayers ibig sabihin prayer lang na masasabi mong atleast we prayed but there are prayers n talagang kailangan maging sincere and mas malakas ang pandinig ni GOD kapag ang nag ppray is man of GOD or matuwid ang buhay.. born again is not a religion but it is a relationship between you and GOD and born again means nakilala mo si LORD spiritually so si LORD and magmamanipulate na ng buhay mo once nakilala mo na sya as ur personal savior and creator. whether we believe or not the bible says unless a man be born again he cannt see the his kingdom.. GOD is good and he listens prayers..GOD BLESS Philippines..
