Ready For The Weekend
Article has been viewed by 0 visitors so farAre you going on a vacation over the coming holidays? Let me tell you a little story about my recent trip abroad. I was on a little press junket to Singapore recently. A trip to Singapore is an opportunity to go visit the neighboring countries of Indonesia, Malaysia or Thailand as well. I opted for the latter. Yes, Thailand that is. I have heard so much about Thailand and how wonderful it is to visit it being one of the much sought after travel destination in the world. Since my return ticket via Singapore can be adjusted to another week, I opted for a Vacation Rental by Owner type of accommodation. This type of accommodation is simply a type of Vacation Rentals. For the uninitiated, a vacation rental is where a house or condo-type flat or a villa (for the can afford of course) can be rented out for a sum. I opted for this because it is much cheaper than in a 3 star hotel i was suppose to stay. Plus I get to be hospitably treated by the owner of the flat where i stayed with all the local custom and good advice as to where i should really go and places to visit rather than the usual touristy traps.
How did I go about finding the vacation flat? Well, I went online of course. I was surfing the usual established websites but they all offered a rather hefty prices for such a touted cheaper accomodation. Then I googled for “vacation rentals” and then the site Vacation Rentals AD came up. I naturally clicked on to it. At the site I was at first hesitant given the rather cheaper prices, but the budget friendly prices really came a calling given my limited budget, so I said what the heck, if I get defrauded I will definitely complain to my credit card company anyway. All the hesitation went away instantly when I booked a vacation rental flat in Thailand. It was cheaper than a downtown 3 star hotel. The reason it was cheaper I was told is because the website offers are from the vacation homes owners themselves, no middlemen. Cheaper but definitely not inferior. Plus the owners were very friendly and accomodating.
I mean don’t get me wrong, hotels are nice and is convenient to book, but if you want more “local culture” and interaction with the citizens, a vacation rental is a must. It was an amzing discovery in amazing Thailand.
