Pinoy Fear Factor South America hosted by Ryan Agoncillo starts airing Nov. 10 on ABS-CBN and will run for 15 weeks. So far the Pinoy Fear Factor 12 Participantes as they are officially called had not been fully revealed with the exception of celebrities Phoemela Barranda and LJ Moreno. Sources say that Riza Santos is also a part of Pinoy Fear Factor. Others are semi-celeb (if there is such a thing) like Ram Sagad, Century Tuna Superbodies 2007 Winner/Welcoat basketball player; Gail Nicolas, Marian Rivera look-alike and Mossimo Bikini Summit 2007 Winner; and a certain Janna Dominguez, who is said to be a former Wowowee host.

Some ordinary folks with colorful presents and pasts are also Pinoy Fear Factor Participantes like: Savanah – described as a ledge dancer; RJ – a stevedore with two kids from Tarlac; Elmer – a vet; Jose – a culinary student; Manuel – a balikbayan from Australia; Marion Dela Cruz – a challenger from Tarlac ( and resides in Vienna, Austria); and Jommy – a model.

In the auditions held nationwide, PFF hopefuls were asked to perform some small stunts and had to undergo physical and psychological examinations. Knowing how to swim and drive was also a strict requirement. There were also some contestants who failed to meet particular clauses in the contract hence had to back out, which further extended the selection process to almost two months.

The 12 participantes left at the end of August and stayed in Argentina for a month. The first winner of Pinoy Fear Factor: South America takes home P2 million in cash and a house and lot worth P2.5 million from Avida. EcoQuest intl could have been a sponsor of this event too.

    i just noticed that survivor is usually mentioned as a means of comparison (maybe not here but i read that a lot in other sites, mags, newspapers). please, even ryan agoncillo said that the two shows are different from each other and cannot really be compared which is better. it’ll only depend on one’s preference (at syempre dahil sa ABS ang fear factor, automatic, without any other reason, masmaganda na ito para sa mga kapamilya, ganun din naman sa mga kapuso e, basta GMA, masmaganda na).

    I’ve watched some episodes of Survivor Philippines and to be fair, it’s good enough. It really does look as a decent survivor season like those in the US. Although, it is obvious that it’s the first season since a lot can still be polished.

    So in short, Survivor Philippines turned out to be okay. With Fear Factor, I hope they’ll be okay too but so far, it seems that ABS will deviate a lot from the original (the same set of contestants for the whole season?). Also, it really looks like a celebrity-search or promotion show. Well, wish ABS the best for this.

    Jose, Elmer and all the other pump squads are being soooo mean and they are going over this crap…. come on you guyz its just a game.. dont hate on manuel just because he is the best out of all you guyz…and it is so immature to totally react like your hurt or something just because of what his saying about you…please “dont hate the player but hate the game”. dont make up things just to make him look bad on cam… i know he said “go down doc.” something like that but its part of the game so please dont take it to seriously or dont get butt hurt because thats all part of the game…all you pump squads teamed up on him and what ive seen on the show you guyz tell him all kinds of shit so i can see so many reasons why Manuel has many craps to say about you guyz but i guess he doesnt does he…jose-when you said something about “the plan”…it is a total lie..dude if your not really sure he thinks that way dont spill keep it to yourself..because that just makes you and all your other pump squad buddies so desperate to make him look bad so you can make yourself look all innocent and what not..
