Freemantle Media franchise holder of Philippine Idol is under negotiation for transfer from ABC 5 to GMA-7. Under the process, the first option is to give it to ABC-5. Pero kung hindi raw mami-meet ng grupo ni Mr. Tonyboy Cojuangco ang hinihingi ng Freemantle Media, malaki ang posibilidad na sa GMA-7 na ito mapanood next year.

If the negotiation becomes successful for GMA, there will be no Pinoy Pop Superstar next year to give way to Philippine Idol Season 2. It is, reportedly also will replace the timeslot of Celebrity Duets.
