Pacquiao won because the boxing referee stopped the fight on the 12th and last round when Miguel Cotto smartly evaded fighting head on. Miguel Cotto is all bloodied in the fight. Miguel Cotto in the interview after the Pacquiao vs Cotto fight said he tried his best against the Filipino pugilist but his best was not good enough and he has all the respect for Pacquiao.
