Among the 20 showbiz hopefuls in the recently-launched Star Circle Batch 16, is 18-year-old cutie Nico Ibaviosa. Our Hunk of the Week is a freshman student and part of the swimming team of UP Diliman, Nico Ibaviosa was in a band called Serve Chilled in Xavier high school. Nico was also in his school’s dance club since Grade 4. When he auditioned for Star Magic, he sang Jason Mraz You And I Both in front of Mr. M ( Johnny Manahan). Instead, Mr. M asked him to sing a ballad. He didn’t know any. But still Mr. M choose him from among an initial 80 aspiring talents later trimmed down to 16 (4 others were added later) in a grueling week by week series of auditions.

That was the one thing that I really learned from those endeavors, to project well,” says Nico Ibaviosa. The 18-year-old is also anything goes, â€Ã…“I don’t really expect anything. Whatever comes I’m open to it.” For now, the Star Magic talent is lent to TV5 alongside other Star Magic talents in TV5′s Gossip Girl inspired teen drama, Lipgloss.
