Politics reared its ugly head again in a supposed celebration of artistic creativity. The winners in last night’s 33rd Metro Manila Film Festival 2007 held at SMX Convention Center in SM Mall of Asia tells a tale of political proportions.

Sen. Jinggoy Estrada, son of former President Joseph Estrada won Best Actor while Sen. Bong Revilla’s film, Resiklo, won Best Picture. The body who served as festivities management and jury of the awards is the MMDA with chair Bayani Fernando as big boss. Fernando recently declared he is running for President of the Philippines in 2010.
