GMA-7 officially announced today that they have chosen Marian Rivera to star in another remake of Darna. The Pinay superhero character Darna has been previously played by Marian Rivera‘s archnemesis, Angel Locsin in 2005 on GMA 7 as well.
GMA bigwigs led by GMA Films president Atty. Annette Gozon-Abrogar and GMA 7 executives, Wilma Galvante, Lilybeth Rasonable, and Marivin Arayata announced that Marian Rivera will headline a soon-to-be shown primetime TV series called “Darna.” Ms. Wilma Galvante further clarified that the soon to be shown Darna starring Marian Rivera will be a solo project for Marian sans the earlier announced TV plug that an upcoming series would be a Darna meets Captain Barbell kind of show. But fans of Captain Barbell need not fret, Ms. Galvante also said that Captain Barbell’s character will do a cameo once in awhile on Darna. The Marian Rivera announcement was also graced by the children of the Darna creator Mars Ravelo, Ruby Austria and Zaldy Ravelo.
Meanwhile, Marian Rivera was ecstatic about her newest Kapuso network role saying that she is happy because GMA 7 has surprised her again with a major role in the mold of Marimar and Dyesebel.
No definite date was set though on when the show would air nor who would be paired off with Marian Rivera. Before the announcement of Marian being Darna, Marian Rivera was reported to have been sulking that it was newcomer Carla Abellana who was chosen to star in the Pinoy remake of Rosalinda.

sa abs laging fresh mga artista dahil binibigyan sila ng break hindi inaabuso,pinapahinga at binibigyan ng pagkakataon ang iba na maipakita ang kanilang mga talento,take a look at coco martin,sino ba siya noon at ano naba ang kapasidad nyang umarte ngayon diba pang awards na ang acting nya ngayon?!
