The Mar Roxas and Korina Sanchez Wedding is touted the Wedding Of The Year. It is actually a marriage of two of the most powerful entities comprising Philippine Society, money and politics and the media on the other hand. Sen. Mar Roxas, 52, from the moneyed class courtesy of her mother, Judy Araneta-Roxas and his father, late Sen. Gerry Roxas; while Korina Sanchez of course is the powerful broadcast journalist of ABS-CBN. Sen. Mar Roxas is running for Vice President in next year’s General Elections. Ironically, Korina Sanchez’ ex, Sen. Noynoy Aquino is Mar Roxas’ Presidential running mate. Imagine Korina Sanchez being in the center of the two most powerful politicians in the country if both of them wins next year. Korina could say she had the best of both worlds!
Kidding aside, the Mar-Korina wedding will be held on Oct. 27, 2009 at the Santo Domingo Church in Quezon City. The long planned wedding has been scaled down though in deference to the recent victims of calamities in the Philippines. Instead, the couple has donated over P2.2 million to six groups to be used for relief assistance to the victims of Tropical Storms â€Å“Ondoy†and â€Å“Pepeng.â€ÂÂ

The planned reception at the Araneta Coliseum has been shelved and guests at the church wedding will instead be treated to refreshments consisting of juice and pan de sal after the wedding. Members of the wedding entourage meanwhile is luckier, they will be treated to dinner at the Roxas-Araneta clan’s White House in Cubao.
Paolo Roxas, 15, son of Sen. Mar Roxas from an earlier relationship, is best man in the wedding. Korina’s ex, Sen. Noynoy Aquino is one of the principal sponsors, the others being Rosa Rosal of the Philippine National Red Cross, Supreme Court Chief Justice Reynato Puno, ABS-CBN president Gabby Lopez, former Senate President Jovito Salonga and veteran broadcast journalist Che-Che Lazaro.
And yes, Baby James Aquino-Yap, son of Kris Aquino and James Yap, is ring-bearer in the wedding ceremony.
[...] Korina Sanchez reportedly talked about dark, little evil spirits in her radio program in dzMM. VP Binay felt alluded too and he cried foul. The Vice President then made a letter complaint addressed to ABS-CBN, DZMM, and the KBP. In the complaint, VP Binayaccused Korina Sanchez of using her program and her stature in ABS-CBN for personal and political ends. This is not the first time though that Binay’s camp has made a complaint against Korina Sanchez. In March 2011, the Vice President’s camp complained also to ABS-CBN that Korina Sanchez was omitting the mention of VP Binay’s name even in news stories involving him.
