The Pacquiao-Hatton Boxing Match will be shown this time on ABS-CBN in the Philippines. Manny Pacquiao has been pushing for ABS-CBN to cover his fight with British boxing champ, Ricky Hatton, which will be held on May 2 in Las Vegas. Manny Pacquiao is a contract star of GMA 7 where he appears in the hit tv shows, “Pinoy Records†with Chris Tiu and “Totoy Bato†with Robin Padilla. Pacman’s previous fights were aired over GMA 7 to record-breaking ratings.
ABS-CBN is said to have offered Manny Pacquiao a hefty amount and full support in the 2010 Elections to ensure his victory in the congressional elections where he will be contesting a seat for representative of the province of Sarangani.
On ABS-CBN’s TV Patrol World tonight, Manny Pacquiao formally announced ABS-CBN’s coverage of the Pacquiao-Hatton Fight by saying, “Nagpapasalamat ako sa aking mga dating media partner pero ngayon pagkatapos kong napag-isipang mabuti, nilapitan ko po ang ABS-CBN. Napagpasiyahan ko po na makipag partner muli sa kanila. Sarili ko po itong desisyon. Sa ABS-CBN mapapanood nyo ang laban kay Ricky Hatton at ang mga susunod ko pa pong laban. At asahan nyo po na patuloy po akong magbibigay ng karangalan at tagumpay po, lalong lalo na kasiyahan sa ating mga kababayang Pilipino at wala pong pagbabago, ang laban ko rin po ay laban po nating lahat mga Pilipino kahit saang man sulok ng mundo. Maraming maraming salamat po sa inyong lahat ng suporta. Sana po lagi nyo po akong ipagdasal sa mga darating ko pa pong laban lalong lalo na this coming May 2nd. Maraming maraming salamat mga minamahal kong kababayan.†(I have decided to ask ABS-CBN to be the broadcaster for the Hatton-Pacquiao fight and my succeeding boxing bouts. This is my own decision, I came to this decision after much deliberation. I thank my previous media partner (GMA 7). To the Filipino people, thank you for all your support).
Meanwhile, the preparations for the Pacquiao-Hatton fight is in full gear. In a show of formidable force, Manny Pacquiao knocked down his sparring partner, a pretty respectable boxer from Glendale, California, Art Hovhannesyan in the second round of the first sparring day today.
This should not be something different. Pacquiao has done it before. In search for bigger paycheck wala siyang delicadeza pareho sila ng ABS CBN. Pacman talaga siya greedy masyado. It was breaking news in GMA 7 today that Manny Pacquiao will not move to ABS-CBN and will continue his contract with Solar Sports where GMA as partner station to air the Hatton fight.
Nakakalito na tong si Pacman. Pera pera lang kaya yann?
Lumipat lang, magbabago na ang pagtingin? ANG BABAW NAMAN NATIN. Manny made a good business decision. This is going to be a big fight and he wants great coverage that only ABS can offer. Consider his boxing career as a business. His capital is himself. We have no right to judge his business decisions. Madasalin naman ang kanyang ina. Siguro, kailangan ang guidance ni “BRO”.
