GMA7′ Survivor vs. ABS-CBN’s Fear Factor

ABS-CBN Kapamilya Network acquired the rights of Fear Factor, to pit against GMA 7’s Survivor Philippines. In the US, Survivor and Fear Factor are also rivals. 25 countries have their own version of Fear Factor, that of Survivor is at an unknown number as of this writing. As i have earlier wrote, Survivor Philippines are set to hold auditions already on the venues mentioned.

Fear Factor pits contestants against each other to complete a series of stunts better and/or quicker than all the other contestants for a grand prize of US$50,000. In Survivor, castaways try to outwit, outplay and outrun each other for the ultimate prize of a million dollars. GMA 7 Kapuso Network reportedly has set the plum prize at 1 million pesos.

ABS-CBN sources say that the show’s name is a toss between Pinoy Fear Factor or Fear Factor Philippines. Fear Factor host choices are between Derek Ramsey, Ryan Agoncillo, Willie Revillame, Cesar Montano, Edu Manzano, Paolo Bediones (!), or they may look for an entirely new (and delicious) face for Philippine television.
