For The First Time had a successful premiere night last Tuesday (August 26) in two SM Megamall Cinemas. It had its regular showing yesterday (August 27), as of press time, no news yet on how successful the movie was on its first dayIt reportedly made P15-M on its First showing day! about the same with the box office return of the smash hit, A Very Special Love. Reports from fans are that long lines in the cineplexes were seen, and people are queuing up for the movie. In the smashing success of the For The First Time premiere night, the biggest celebrities of Philippine Showbiz were in attendance both from rival networks ABS-CBN and GMA. Notably present in the premiere night supporting lead stars KC Concepcion and Richard Gutierrez were:
KC Concepcion ’s Family: Sharon Cuneta, Senator Francis Pangilinan, and Elaine Cuneta who were in Cinema 10 of the Megamall, an intrigue in itself really, and KC’s real dad, Gabby Concepcion who watched on Cinema 9 of the Megamall.
Richard Gutierrez ‘ Family: Annabelle Rama, Eddie Gutierrez, Ruffa Gutierrez, twin brother Raymond and brothers Rocky, Ramon Christopher and Ritchie Paul Gutierrez.
ABS-CBN Executives: Chairman and CEO Gabby Lopez, ABS-CBN President Charo Santos-Concio, ABS-CBN Executives Malou Santos, Cory Vidanes, Deo Endrinal and Star Magic head Johnny Manahan.
Only one GMA Executive attended – Redgie Acuna-Magno, the rest, Richard’s mentor’s in his hit TV show, Codename: Asero like Executive Producer Carol Reyes and Angie Castrence and Codename: Asero director Mark Reyes.
The Kapuso Stars who attended were: Richard Gomez, German Moreno, Senator Bong Revilla Jr., JC De Vera, Paolo Paraiso, Rhian Ramos, Michelle and Ehra Madrigal.
The Kapamilya Stars who attended were: Jericho Rosales, Gary Valenciano, Sarah Geronimo, Mariel Rodriguez, Ai Ai Delas Alas, Maja Salvador, and Manila Vice Mayor Isko Moreno.
Ano ang hinihintay nyo, tara byahe na! ay..nood na.LOL. Actually, from the sheer beauty pa lang of Greece, the movie is worth it. I will be watching this myself in the days to come, when schedule allows. And look at these photos, there could be something brewing between KC Concepcion and Richard Gutierrez in real life from these pics alone, kaya watch na ng For The First Time to see the “magic” and “chemistry” on the big screen. I watched this movie last night with my friends Ernie and Sheryl. We were at the 8:15pm showing in SM Megamall. As expected, the movie house was full because it was payday. Fortunately, we had good seats.
At the beginning, the movie was interesting. It made me more interested when the movie started to show the scenery in Greece. It’s really beautiful! I want to go there.
However, the movie itself was a disappointment. Why? Here are my opinions…
1. Richard’s acting was dull. He’s like a robot trying to show emotions but cannot. Stiff.
2. KC is a copy of Sharon Cuneta’s acting. Even the way she said her lines and expression are like of her mother’s. When I was watching her, it felt I was watching Sharon.
3. The conflict of the story is “mababaw”.
4. I didn’t feel any kilig at all. Their love team is pilit for me.
5. Except for the comedy parts of Candy Pangilinan and her partner Benjo (I appreciated them more than the lead actors by the way), the movie was boring.
I’ll give this movie 2 stars. 1 star for the beauty of Greece and 1 star for Candy and Benjo.
Dahil sa comment mong yan Aileen Apostol e di na kami manonood ng For The First Time. Salamat sa iyong review at naliwanagan kami. Fans out there and producers, si Aileen Apostol na lang sisihin nyo pag wala na kayong kitain pa sa mga susunod na araw. Hahahahahahahaha.

Everyone who has an eye for good and wholesome quality movies has had positive comments and reviews (i.e., Ricky Lo of Star, Jayson Brizuela of Inquirer, Dine Recoma of The D Spot, and Karen Pagsolingan of PEP).
Apart from its highest grossing first day, its premiere night is the highest ever in Philippine premiere night history as per the SM certification. Everyday, more and more people are watching!
Yes, I agree with Ms. Aileen Apostol comments: The movie “for the first time” is not so kilig at all : 1.) The tandem is so fake, walang kilig to the bones compared to Sarah and JohnLLoyd’s movie “A Very Special Love”. (2) Richard’s acting is so dull and robotic, walang emotion, parang blanko ang facial expression; (3) the movie’s gross receipt is not that blockbuster for the major reason: Total Gross Receipts of the movie “DIVIDED BY” FOUR (why 4???? Richard & KC team “1″ plus Sharon family “1″ plus Gabby Concepcion “1″ plus Rufa’s family “1″ equals 4). That is how weak the movie is. Compared to the movie of Sarah and Johnlloyd na talagang si Sarah at Johnlloyd lang ang nagdala at nag-promote na movie nila. Who is the real blockbuster movie now??? Sarah and Johnlloyd ofcourse.
Additional comments for Sharon’s nmayabang na dating in saying in “all CAPITAL LETTERS” about the blockbuster premiere showing of her daughter’s movie: Sharon Cuneta says with all grandiose: ‘ANG MOVIE LANG HO NG ANAK KO AT ANG MOVIE KO NA CAREGIVER ANG GANITONG KARAMI NG TAO ANG NAG-ATTEND SA PREMIER SHOWING ANG NAKITA KONG GANITO KA-SUCCDESSFUL”???????? KADIRI TO DEATH NAMAN IN SAYING THIS IN FRONT OF ALL THE TV VIEWERS…… “HOW KAYABANG NAMAN NG ISANG SHARON CUNETA!!!!!! NAKAKAHIYA SA PAGBUBUHAT NG SARILING BANGKO……. People have different tastes. If you don’t like the movie, no one is forcing you to like it.
Anyway, like Regina, I also encourage everyone to watch this movie. It’s not the usual kilig, teeny-bopper movie. That’s why the intelligent young crowd will like it. I am not surprise if this will be the biggest hit this year.

tabi tabi po sa mga kinilig sa movie.. or sa mga taong bayan na nagsabing maganda ang movie.. we respect your point of view, so sana ganun din kayo samin. i did not liked the movie. as in sa rating na 1-10(1 lowest) i’ll go negative 10.. the movie is such a disappointment para sa kilalang director BB. Bernal and a known blockbuster maker Richard. Kc is good.. with everything. pero sa movie na to, i think its better for her to just do stage play nalang. Sa mga conversations sa movie, wala akong naramdamang emotion. parang nagsasalita lang siya out of the script that has been provided to her. siguro naaantig lang ako pag umiiyak siya – magaling siya dun. pero most of the time, napaka dull. nadadala tuloy yung acting ni richard. mas natuwa pa nga ako kila candy pangilinan e.. tsaka sa mga ibang artista. compared sa movie nila john lloyd and sarah, malayong mas maganda yung kila john lloyd. at kung blockbuster man yung movie, hindi dahil sa maganda kundi dahil curious yung mga tao.
I dont agree with the comment of Aileen Apostol, well kaya naman ganoon ang acting ni richard eh, he plays a super playboy role in the movie. Alam ng pag paka romantic siya at full of emotions d naman bagay sa role niya. hello common sense… Yah I believe na parang Sharon Cuneta umarte si KC kasi Nanay niya yun at nag mana siya doon alam ng maging Nora Aunor siya umarte dun magtaka ka hahahaha….
sa laki ng promotional campaign na ginawa ng star cinema, buti na lang kumita ang movie… i’m planning to see it not because of kc and richard but because of greece… hehehe… i like kc but i don’t like richard, he’s not a good actor at all. guapo lang cya like his dad. hay! well this is my own personal opinion…
i watched a very special love because my friends told me that it was fun and nakaka kilig! they were right! unfortunately, wala akong naririnig na ganoon with for the first time… kaya hanggang ngayon hindi pa ako nanonood… hay! may smear campaign ba na nagaganap? medyo palagin negative reviews kasi ang naririnig ko… buti na lang si joyce bernal ang direktor, i’m sure it’s a good movie… for the kilig part, mahirap ng linlangin ang moviegoers… it will definitely show on the big screen kung meron o wala…

si Aileen Apostol im sure ay isang KAPUSO na walang magawa sa sarili. Kung ayaw mo ng movie, wag ka na lang manood hidi yung nandadamay ka pa ng ibang tao. inggitera doon ka sa idol mong si Marian na nakuhanan ng picture na kita ang p. para makita mo ang namamasang p ni marian na mahilig bumukaka.
i believe a very special love made its viewers more kilig compared to for the first time. the plot in avsl is more believable compared to ftft. but i enjoyed ftft also. the two movies are worth watching.

Theres no comparison with any other young promising star si KC. She has all the packages na star quality, ABC crowd pwede niyang makuha. Sino yun Marian ano ba naman yan maganda lang naman siya at marunong umiyak,pakantahin mo kaya at pasayawin.Honestly mas sexy pa si Ms. Halili sa kanya.Advice lang pag umarte na siya ng pasigaw para siyang wlang class…parang butangera..no really pasinin ninyo,ganun ba talaga siya?maganda lang siya but beauty comes from within patagalin mo lag siya ng konti lalabas den ang natural niya.Ok si Katrina Halili im not her fan pero hindi siya plastic,mas totoong tao siya. By the way, si Richard kahit sinong kapareha niya maghit ang movie niya,kahit sinong kaya niyang dalhin .Kahit wag na siyang umarte his looks is enough para maaliw ang manood niya. The story- just so and so shot in a beautiful location. The movie seems to be trying so hard to fit the entire script into the screenplay that the jumps from scene to another seems disjointed. The movie is such a disappointment from such a big hype. Some acting maybe a bit overboard, perhaps a different director may have done justice on it?
I have watched the FTFT and AVSL today in a row. I am a KC-Richard fan but I am disappointed with the movie plot of “for the first time” movie and their dialogues are so weak. The scenes are inconsistent and unreal. The movie resulted to be like an indie film. Phillip Salvador is a good actor but the output of the movie never gave justice to his role (walang dating) pati `yong role ni Eigenmann walang dating as prospect love triangle. KC doesn’t gave justice to her character (parang nahihiya pa sya sa acting nya at `yong buhok nya very distracting). Richard never changed his acting parang nanonood lang din ako ng Asero. I was expecting so big from them but it really was a disappointment to think that this is from Star Cinema. I hope their film in GMA would be better… `yong may content ang story at maayos ang dialogues at maipalalabas ng maayos `yong role ng bawat isa pati na ang kanilang acting dahil gusto ko maganda ang movies ni KC at Richard dahil minsan lang sila magkakasama sa movie…
I think “A Very Special Love” deserves to be the top grossing film this year because of the so called “quality”. I do not like Sarah Geronimo but I was surprised kung papaano naipalabas ng director `yong acting nya na akma sa role. She’s good in this movie. John Lloyd is always good. Ricky Rivero’s role and Rowell Santiago’s role naipalabas ng maayos as well as the flippage staff. Ito ang movie na masasabing may quality.
The movie is not really that so kilig for me…,but i love KC and RICHARD!!! hoping that their next movie will be better than this one.For the 2 of them keep up the good work and enjoy. anyway, my cousin and her friends watch the at Calgary,Canada.and lots of filipina who is also watching. and we saw 2 black people na manonood rin.hahhha… i hope they understood the whole concept of the story.

I agree. I am not a fan but I've watched Richard's other movies with Angel Locsin etc. They were good, really good actually. This movie, sorry to say, the kilig factor is just not there. Sorry guys, walang chemistry. Perhaps KC should be partnered with older/taller guy or with someone who really likes her, well, that's my opinion. As for Richard's acting, I don't think he really likes KC or has even a tiny bit crush on her and it showed in this movie. I love tagalog movies, but this one was a disappointment, I expected more. I wanted to like it but can't. Didn't work for me. But go ahead and watch the film, everyone's entitled to his/her own opinion. Who knows, you might like it.
Hello Phil.!First I would like to congratulate the Phil.movie industries to discover this two persons(Kc Concepcion and Richard Gutierrez).First I did'nt know that they are making a movies.They are a very good chemistry.Everybody knows that!.I am inviting all producers and directors to study more about doing a movies.These two persons are one of the idols of Filipinos arround the world.Give them a chance to make a movie like actions with a inspirable story.Let us live here for real life.
