Filipino-American Renaldo Lapuz, American Idol 7 Dallas auditions
At first, when it was shown yesterday as a teaser, i was alarmed that someone from the Philippines, would annoy the worldwide audience, judging from the talents we have produced in the past American Idol seasons like Jasmine Trias, Camille Velasco, AJ Tabaldo, etc..but today after i watched Renaldo Lapuz audition, i didn’t think it was annoying.
Renaldo Lapuz, 44, has an Ariel and Maverick feel, sang his original composition, “We’re brothers forever.” The lyrics of We’re brothers forever are:
I am your brother
Your best friend forever
Singing the songs, the music that you love
He is my brother
He is best friend forever
Singing the songs, the music that we love
My brother till the end of time
Together, forever, he’s always in my heart.
We’re brothers forever
Together or not, you’re always in my heart
You hurt your feelings
And you’ll be running no more.
Simon Cowell even feared that Renaldo Lapuz’ composition would be a hit record. The three American Idol judges Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul and Randy Jackson all joined him onstage to sing it and even host Ryan Seacrest. It was hilarious! Plus, this is the first time I’ve seen American Idol judge, Paula Abdul dance again after so many years and it took that song to make her do so. Paula Abdul is a dancer/choreographer before being a singer. I think Renaldo Lapuz could be a hit novelty act like William Hung.
Watch Renaldo Lapuz and the American Idol judges goof around to We’re Brothers Forever below:
