Fabulously Refined

I was watching Le Vie En Rose, that acclaimed movie from last year where Marion Cottilard almost sweeped through every Best Actress award there is. When it came to that scene where Edith Piaf was already sick and in seclusion, as awkward as it is to even to even think about it, i was distracted by the draperies simply because i was actually thinking of getting one like that, one that will give me the comfort of shutting sunlight when i wish to, from permeating my bedroom. And no, i am not in that Edith Piaf phase, i am just insomniac, so my nights are my “day” and my days are my “nights”. Don’t tell me i should just get an eyepatch or move my room. Not an ideal solution for me right now.

Then, yeah, after watching Le Vie En Rose, i thoroughly mustered some resolved to once and for all do this project. I know that shutters are an ideal way to control light and privacy in one’s home, whilst at the same time produce a look that is elegant, stylish and admired by all when not completely shut.

After much drama looking around, I found one that will fit my craving for comfort. A custom-made wooden interior Plantation shutters. And it is available in three variants.

1. The Chelsea Shutter Range which is made from engineered timber (Low Density Fibreboard).

2. The Richmond Shutter Range – from Phoenix Tree. A lower priced wood shutter which is lighter in weight.

3. The Kensington Shutter Range which is crafted in beautiful Western Red Cedar. Which was so elegant looking but is ideal for wet rooms like bathrooms only.

I choose the Richmond because it was ideal for larger framed windows. I am in love with these shutters! They look rich and it makes my house seem so much more refined and finished! So glad I chose this and stayed away from the big box store shutters. The screws are all hidden so they just look nice and clean and gorgeous both from inside my house and from the street. La Dolce Vita! Wait, that was Italian!
