Ethel Booba and Mcoy of the defunct Orange & Lemons exited Pinoy Big Brother house voluntarily. But of course there was a reason.
Mcoy felt offended by a comment from Big Brother about one of the tasks given to them, a 15-minute short film. Mcoy got offended when Big Brother mentioned that the film’s script, which was written by Mcoy, was similar to ” The Ghost of August Mayford, †a story about the ghost of a policeman killed in Alton town in the United States. Big Brother said the film’s concept was acceptable, but that Mcoy and the housemates could have done better with a fully Pinoy concept.
Mcoy said that he was traumatized before by a plagiarism issue against him and his band Orange and Lemons, the song “Pinoy Ako” which incidentally is Pinoy Big Brother’s official theme. The controversy before was that it was interestingly similar to a song by Aussie rock band, Silverchair.
Mcoy on their short film task, explained that a fully Pinoy concept would be hard to do considering that the interiors of the PBB house were designed with a Victorian-era look.
Adding fuel to Mcoy’s anger was Ethel Booba. She expressed confusion over everything that was happening to them. Already upset,Booba reiterated her “Praning Theory” regarding Mariel’s true status; she asked whether Mariel was just a guest or a genuine housemate like them.

I am really disappointed of the Pinoy Big Brother, it’s not proper to disrespect a person. If ever that he/she is under your responsibilities you must and u have to respect them and if u want to give a charity work, u should be “free handed” not to give a task to a person, and that task is for exchange to just have “ratingsâ€?. ur just giving those things because of ratings. Right? Im not new to the industry cause my family members are artist too. Thats why only few people watch ur show, yeah i admit i watch ur show, but i felt like hurt what u did, by disrespecting Mcoy, although i can understand the part of Ethel. And about ur article “Kuya wishes his ex-housemates the bestâ€oh really? Big bro? wants best after he did that to the 2 of them? God! Haha!. Just my opinion, or my points of view of wat I read. I am a Kapamilya & Kapuso Watcher.
