The Chris Brown Rihanna Abuse scandal has stirred the net over the weekend and has even eclipsed the 2009 Grammy Awards where Rihanna and Chris Brown were set to perform but canceled at the last minute. Story goes that Chris Brown turned himself into the Los Angeles Police Department’s Wilshire station around 6:30 on Sunday. He was then questioned and booked on suspicion of making a criminal threat, which is a felony.
Chris Brown’s arrest stemmed from a domestic violence complaint in the posh Hancock Park area of Los Angeles. A woman widely believed to be Rihanna, reported to police that she and Brown had gotten into a fight in a car just after midnight that morning. Rihanna said Chris Brown pulled the vehicle over and the argument became more intense. The woman believed to be Rihanna, “suffered visible injuries†and pinpointed to Chris Brown as her attacker, police said. Several witnesses are reporting that they saw Chris Brown with Rihanna. “Rihanna was clearly very upset by what had happened and I could hear her screaming. Rihanna was trying to get her point across about something, she sounded like she was crying as she tried to get her point across,†an eyewitness said. Rumors are rife that they were arguing about how Rihanna gave Chris Brown herpes. No word out yet about the veracity of this wild gossip.

Chris Brown is now free on a $50,000 bail. Chris Brown is set to appear in court on March 5. As for Chris Brown’s mugshot, the LAPD has yet to release the image. What gets me is that you fans think you know the artist just because of their public persona. Any person who witnessed domestic violence growing up is more prone to become violent themselves when they get older. Just because he seems like the sweetest, caring guy to us…doesn’t mean he is that way behind closed doors. If the reports about Rihanna dancing up on some guys is true as to what started this argument, I can understand why he was angry, but that still is NO reason to beat a woman. Although we also do not know what happened between the two to provoke the attack, the facts are that Rihanna was beaten by Chris and that is not cool. Me being a woman who was once a victim of an abusive man, I understand how this could have happened. Now I’m not pointing fingers at Chris or Rihanna because the issue most certainly was a result of certain actions by both people, but at no point should a man EVER do that to a woman. I love his music and will remain a fan of his music, but I have lost a lot of respect for him. As for the comments about black and white… race doesn’t matter. I was beaten by a white man from NC… I know Puerto Rican men who have beaten their women. The radio station where I live said that the argument started because Rihanna was dancing with some guys at the Pre-Grammy parties they were seen at, and Chris got jealous and began arguing with her. Like I said previously, we don’t know how provocatively Rihanna was dancing with these guys for him to have gotten jealous, but no matter how bad the dancing was… he shouldn’t have beat her.
