A reader commented in Charice in Obama Inaugural rather violently that Charice Pempengco did not really perform at the Obama Pre-Inaugural as Charice herself revealed in Wowowee and several other interviews. In her comment, “Mayumi’ uncharacteristically opined the following info:
Charice Pempengco was invited to perform at the Realizing the Dream Fourth Annual King Day Commemoration 2nd Annual Realizing the Dream Award Celebration. The event date was Jan. 18, at Hyatt Regency Washington on Capitol Hill and was hosted by Martin Luther King III.
It was not a pre-inaugural celebration of President Barak Obama, it was not even televised, and it was a private reception. And President B. Obama was unable to attend the reception.
Okay, CHARICE may not have performed at the Obama Inaugural but isn’t it an honor still to perform at such an event. Also, this blog merely echoed/reported what Charice herself declared that she was set to perform at the Obama Pre-Inaugural.

c’mon! it may not have been an official pre-inaugural ceremony as organized by the white house but the mere fact that the President and Charice could have attended the same event that night (if only the President was able to) is still a privilege only she can rightfully claim. having been invited, at the least. for someone to have the opportunity to perform at the presence of such exclusive audience is an honor by itself. stop this childish, crappy, non-sense attack on a person because of network rivalry. at the end of the day, Charice has raised world awareness on the quality of Filipino talent. be happy. celebrate.
this is not a network rivalry. both u abs & gma create TRASH shows ok. the kid lied in national tv. im not surprise on willie, halang n tlga kaluluwa nun. the president never saw u perform kid, yet ur saying u performed on his inauguration/inaugural ball (are u sure its not the MLK event which falls on d same date or the phil. embassy party in w/c khit c pokwang pde mg perform). charice wla kp s kalingkingan ni Lea Salonga, pro kung umasta k kala mo n kng cno. lea has performed infront of npk rami ng head of states. yet she stays humble. it would have been alot easier to be proud of ur kababayan if she stays like that. & im sure u will agree “pinoy tayo”.

And Realizing the Dream Fourth Annual King Day Commemoration 2nd Annual Realizing the Dream Award Celebration was one of them.
Actually this is the most prestigious and serious party to celebrate Obama’s victory. Prez Obama said that without Marthin Luther paving the way for people of color, he wouldn’t have become President at this time..
Marthin Luther celebration PAVEd the way for Obama. So Charice actually sang in most prestigious party of all time since other parties were attended only by celebrities, movie stars… Marthin Luther King is the REAL DEAL…
