Marian Rivera was proclaimed the Philippines Sexiest Filipina of 2008 by FHM Philippines. FHM Philippines is the no.1 men’s magazine in the Philippines with 60% of the market. The Sexiest Filipina 2008 search is an annual poll chosen by the people thru online, text and actual balloting in several events. Marian Rivera came from a lower ranking last year to bolt into the top spot courtesy of two no. 1 primetime tv shows.

After all the controversy fans of Marian Rivera and Angel Locsin, in the end FHM Philippines revealed that it was no contest after all. The results of the Sexiest Filipina poll thru text, ballot and online voting showed that Marian Rivera garnered a total of 316, 135 votes, while Katrina Halili, two-time winner of FHM 100 Sexiest, landed the second spot with 123, 239 votes. Angel Locsin, who won as sexiest Pinay in 2005, came only third with 121, 388 votes.

FHM Philippines editor-in-chief Alan Madrilejos also disclosed that Marian Rivera commanded a large lead in online and text votes, while Katrina Halili topped the ballot-voting category. Meanwhile, Angel Locsin did not top any category.

That is the story of the day. Allegedly, the GMA talents came victorious because of an enthusiastic campaign from the GMA management itself. Employees and talents alike were given 300 pesos load to vote for Marian Rivera, as reported in by several movie columnists.

Meanwhile, Dingdong Dantes, Marian’s leading man in the hit Primetime TV Show, Dyesebel, even before the results were announced, had made known his preference that Marian should be the number one sexiest Filipina in the FHM annual poll. “She deserves it because she worked hard for it,” hot hunk Dingdong Dantes said.

She did not wanted to end her Cosmo Girl interview without a word of advice to fellow teenage girls out there:

“You have to think it through, not just do something spur of the moment,” she says. “So that after it happens you won’t regret it. I think girls can be infatuated with their boyfriends and they have to remember that they come first.”
