Christina Applegate decided to the removal of both her breast to be cancer-free and have cute breasts till she’s 90. Christina Applegate, star of Samantha Who? and who became a TV star with Married… with Children and remember that song by P.M. Dawn entitled “Set Adrift on Memory Bliss” where P.M. Dawn raps “Christina Applegate, you gotta put me on,” talked to ABC.com about her experience with breast cancer. A month after being diagnosed with breast cancer, she decided the cancer should be completely excised so that there would be a reduced chance of it returning. Christina Applegate tested positive for the BRCA1 breast cancer gene, and Christina Applegate opted to have both her breasts removed in an operation known as a prophylactic double mastectomy, even though cancerous lumps were only found in one breast.

Christina’s initial reaction when she received her diagnosis, was.

“Oh my god. I was so pissed off, so mad … I was just shaking.” But then, immediately I had to go into take-care-of-business mode.”

“My decision, after looking at all the treatment plans that were possibilities for me, the only one that seemed the most logical and the one that was going to work for me was to have a bilateral mastectomy. So basically I had a prophylactic double mastectomies.”

“Sometimes I cry. Sometimes I scream, and I get really angry and I get really into wallowing in self-pity sometimes, and I think it’s all part of healing.”

Over the next eight months she will undergo reconstructive surgery. Christina Applegate, looking at the positive and bright side said:

I’m gonna have cute boobs till I’m 90.”

Brave girl. I guess talking about it is a therapy in itself and will serve as an inspiration to others who is experiencing the exact same situation.
