My trip to Amsterdam

August 22, 2008 · Filed Under Blog Matters · Comment
My recent trip to Amsterdam was a memorable one. It is a fascinating place to visit. There are lots of museums and churches to visit and even just walking around the canals is a pleasant experience. And of course the city is a place where the word “bohemian” finds its true meaning. In the middle of the great tourist attractions is the Red Light District where all sorts of sensual pleasures await you. Of course, i did not went in there i just gawked, ahaha.

Among the attractions we visited are the Oude Kerk (old church) Neuwie Kerk (new church), the Amsterdam Historical Museum, the Van Goch Museum and the Rijksmuseum. The Old Church was very bare, but interesting because it contains the grave of famous painter Rembrandt’s wife.

I also went to Anne Frank’s House, which I recommend as a must to anyone going to Amsterdam. The atmosphere and the exhibits were very moving and seeing how small an area the 8 people who were hiding lived in there will really make you think. Anne Frank is the girl who wrote a diary about her life under Nazi Germany rule in World War 2.

I recommend one should visit the colorful, liberal and fascinating Amsterdam! Cheap Amsterdam Hotels are everywhere so there is no excuse to go to Amsterdam if you have the means to do so.

Choosing a Domain Name

August 22, 2008 · Filed Under Blog Matters · 1 Comment
Choosing domain name is not an easy task actually. Believe it or not, people think it is easy as like getitfromboy.net but it is not. Although most of the time, we choose our own name or surname as domain name, but most of those time too, the domain name with our name or our surname especially if it is a common one is taken already or if it is for sale, it is selling at a prohibitive cost like this blog, i was keen on getting the .com domain name but it is already owned by some spammy site with no content at all.

So if you are starting a blog, i suggest you start with free hosts like wordpress.com or blogger then after a couple of months when you already know the ropes of blogging and the not so pretty job of fiddling with codes, you now get your own domain name.

And choosing your own domain name as i have said is no easy task. I suggest you try out with few words only domain name. If it is not still available, expand with some words, but please make sure it is on topic with your site content. A no-no is to use hyphens and special characters, it is not SEO friendly and will keep your blog in the backburner of Google.

After choosing your domain name, another problem that will crop up at this point is where to purchase your domain name. You may be thinking ‘there are so many companies from which I can buy a domain’. Well that choice certainly is not easy. It is the most important part of your future blogging career so be very very careful on this one. Choose a company that is reliable. Buy Domain Name that is cheap and affordable from domain express. Offering all major extensions along with free url forwarding, email forwarding.

corolla-300x199 User Feedback| Toyota Corolla\\

For decades now, the Toyota Corolla always sports a design with its predictable blend of classic suburban working class reliable, economical and durable transportation. But the 2009 Toyota Corolla is more snappy and youthful in its design. The latest Corolla is the tenth generation Corolla, and Toyota is bent on capturing the much younger market which has so far eluded it in North America. Toyota said, its goal for the 2009 Corolla is, “to connect, more than ever, with younger buyers on every level.”

And to embark on such a tall order, which is to attract younger buyers, it sent its “creative style designers” to Italy for four months to discover “What would stand out, even on the streets of Milan?”
And the result is the 2009 Toyota Corolla. Aside from being one of the most reliable cars on the road, economical and inexpensive to maintain, the auto manufacturer thinks it has embodied the Italian flair for style.

And so if you are in Alexandria VA, Arlington VA, Fairfax VA, Falls Church VA, Springfield VA, or Tysons Corner VA, you owe it to yourself to check out the incredible new Toyota Corolla inventory at Toyota Corolla Virginia. No matter what model of Toyota Corolla you want, they have it, or a promise that they can probably get it for you.

You can’t beat Koons Toyota when it comes to the best new Toyota Corolla selection in the Springfield VA, Falls Church VA, Tysons Corner VA, Arlington VA, Fairfax VA, and Alexandria VA areas. It is the largest new Toyota Corolla dealer in Virginia.

Melbourne Cup | Australia’s most famous Tuesday

August 22, 2008 · Filed Under Blog Matters · Comment
At 3.00 pm AEST, on the first Tuesday of every November, Australians everywhere stop for one of the world’s most famous horse races - the Melbourne Cup. The Melbourne Cup Day is Australia’s most famous Tuesday. Australians stops whatever they are doing to listen to the race call, or watch the race on TV. Even those who don’t usually bet, try their luck with a small wager or entry into a ’sweep,’ a lottery in which each ticket-holder is matched with a randomly drawn horse.

The Melbourne Cup is also one of the richest at around $AU5.1 million in winnings and one of most challenging horse races in the world. The race is run over 3,200 metres and is a handicapped race. This means that the better the horse is, the more weight it has to carry in the race. The distance and the handicap ensure that the Melbourne Cup is a horse race in which the occasional punter has as good a chance of picking the winner as those who follow the form. It is a day when all Australians are considered to have an equal chance on the turf as well as on the lawn.

Check out the Melbourne Cup link above, it is Australia’s ultimate horse racing site. Punters Paradise is a social networking site for racing with a daily report including the latest horse racing news, horse racing tips, betting info, melbourne cup, a horse racing forum and photos of Australian horse racing.
