The eating disorder Anorexia Nervosa may have played a part in the sudden death of Brittany Murphy yesterday at age 32. Speculations mounted when a significant amount of vomit were found in the bathroom area where Murphy was found unconscious in the shower, although reports said Brittany Murphy was taking medication for flu-like symptoms for several days before her death. Medical reports find her cause of death as cardiac arrest. Reports from friends and colleagues say that Brittany Murphy had “insane self-image issues”, and said some magazines decided against running photos of her in December because she looked sick and “painfully thin”. One of the most famous poster girl for the eating disorder Anorexia Nervosia is Karen Carpenter of the supergroup The Carpenters who died from cardiac arrest too due to the eating disorder.
