Are You The Next Big Star? As in, Are You The Next Big Star? If you think you have what it takes to be the next big star, then GMA 7 is looking for you. Once more with feeling, Are You The Next Big Star? hahaha. Are You The Next Big Star? is GMA 7’s replacement to the Pinoy Idol franchise that did not do well at the ratings. Since it is recession, GMA felt it is wasting valuable resources by paying for a failed Idol franchise, that is of course only in the Philippines, the rest of the world have very successful Idol franchises. Back to Are You The Next Big Star?, yes, it is a singing competition, and it will be hosted by Regine Velasquez but folks GMA said it will not be a clone of Pinoy Pop Superstar. Are You The Next Big Star? is a fresh Philippine made or should I say GMA made new singing competition with a different format. Auditions are now ongoing as we speak in SM Baliuag in Baliuag, Bulacan.

Next audition dates are in the following dates and venues:

April 18 -- SM Batangas

April 24 & 25 -- SM Marikina

Auditions start at 10 in the morning. Requirements are:

Must possess the qualities of the next big SINGING superstar
16 to 24 years of age
Male or Female
NSO certified Birth Certificate
Valid ID
2 3R Photos (Full Body and Closeup)
2 Minus One CD material

    Hello, are you the next big star is only replacing pinoy idol for this year only, next year is pinoy idol again

    Confirmed na na bibitawan na ng gma ang idol franchise! Iba ang appeal ni laarni at bugoy ng PDA dahil napataob nila ang pinoy idol!

    nalugi tiyak ang gma sa pinoy idol kaya ititigil na nila. so, hindi pala totoo na natalo ng pinoy idol sa ratings ang pda. tama hinala ko, wag paniwalaan ang surveys ng agb-nielsen. kung totoong panalo sa survey ang pinoy idol, e bakit nagba-bye na sa ere? nilangaw tiyak sa totoong ratings ng masa ang pinoy idol!

    ang pda kasi magbubukas uli this year for their third school year/season. :)

    Sabi rin ng agb na talo sa ratings ang PBB, pero hello? magbubukas uli ang bahay ni kuya very soon. proof na malakas ang hatak nito sa viewers. hindi na kapanipaniwala ang surveys ng agb.

    in contrast, sabi ng agb mataas sa rating “ang babaeng hinugot sa aking tadyang” at “all about eve” pero the news we are hearing ay maaga nang tatapusin ang dalawang soaps na ito kasi nalulugi ang gma. hay, nako! kung talagang nagre-rate bakit papalitan kaagad! labo talaga ng agb-nielsen!!!

    if i were you… pag napa audition kau… wag nyo i base sa hitsura ng nag-audition kundi sa taglay na talent nito…. wag kaung gumaya sa abs-cbn na mukha lang binibase ang pagpapa audition ng pbb yan tuloy nainis ang ibang tao sa kanila at isa na ako dun kasi unfair kasi sa iba…. bumyahe pa galing sa malayong lugar makapag-audition pero yun pala hindi attitude or talent ang pinagbabasihan nila kundi hitsura aanhin namn ang hitsura kung wala namng talent sayang lang ang oppurtunity diba kaya nalulugi ang isang network…

    kung hindi nga lang malayo ang audition venue ng next big star ay mag-audition din sayang namn kasi ang oppurtunity na minsan lang dumadating..

    if i were you…a dvise ko lang… kung magpapa-audition man kau dapat hindi nyo nbinabase sa mukha,,, kundi sa talent at good attitude na tinataglay ng nag-audtion….wag kaung gumaya sa abs-cbn na mukha lang ang pinagbabasehan nila… katulad nalang ng mga nasa pbbb before diba may hitsura pero wala namng talent… kaya walang maxadong sumikat sa kanila… pano kasi mukha lang ang tinitingnan hindi mo na inaala ang talent nito…

    kung hindi nga lang malayo ang audition venue ng next big star search ay mag-audition din ako kaso malayo namn pasay pa kasi ako… un lang

    Sayang! Ang ganda pa nman ng scheme ng Pinoy Idol. Sana nga ibalik nila nxt year. Hahaha. Sasali na ako talaga. Pls. Ibalik nyo na! Maganda ang feedback ng tao kung magagaling ang contestants at base rin sa mga JUDGES. Sana palitan ang mga JUDGES para maganda ang makuha nilang artists. Kahit d2 sikat ang American Idol. As in sobra. Kc nga ganun. Well opinion lng naman. PLS. Petition TO. Hahaha……

    Ang ganda ng Are You The Next Big Star? Bakit? Super rigorous at extreme ang pag-search sa karapat-dapat na STAR…. Nandiyan ang mga EXPERT JURORS sa LARANGAN NG MUSIC like UP Conservatory, UST Conservatory, Madirgal Singers, Center for pop and isay alvarez…. tapos nandyan din si danny tan, randy santiago, pops fernandez, mon faustino and anne quintos ng the company

    I watched this show… and it just makes me sleep.. the contestants are soooo mediocre… they're just a bunch of eye candies who sings karaoke… although the judges are good.. but the show is so-so… the stage doesn't fit on the song… the sounds are boring…
