Another Actor in Rape Case

After Aljur Abrenica is accused of acts of lasciviousness by an alleged minor, another actor is facing rape charges by an underage girl. Royette Padilla, a former action star and brother of Robin Padilla and BB Gandanghari is accused of raping a minor. Many years ago, Royette Padilla also became controversial and became the subject of a Senate investigation when he proclaimed himself as the brigadier general of H-World United Nations Military Philippine Government. Early this year, Royette Padilla was rushed to a hospital after he was allegedly victimized by suspected members of the Ativan Gang. This time, Royette Padilla is charged of rape by a 17-year-old girl hidden under the name “Carmina”. The alleged victim, who is a resident of Tondo, said that the incident happened in an apartelle in Angeles City.

According to her sworn statement, a friend introduced her to the actor on November 9 in front of Dr. Jose Reyes Memorial Hospital in Manila. “Pagkatapos na ipakilala ng aking kaibigan si Royette Padilla ay iniwan na ako nito. Namasyal kaming dalawa ni Royette gamit ang sasakyan nitong black Toyota Fortuner,” narrated Carmina to the police. During their trip, Carmina said that Royette pulled over twice to buy food and prepaid load for his cell phone. “Dahil sa haba ng aming biyahe ay nakatulog na ako. Nang magising ako ay tinanong ko kung nasaan na kami at ang sabi ni Royette ay nasa Angeles City na kami,” said Carmina.

Inside the apartelle’s room, the complainant claimed that Royette ordered food and beer. After consuming two bottles of beer, Royette Padilla allegedly took off his shirt and pants. Carmina said, “Nang naka-briefs na lang siya ay hinawakan niya ako sa baywang at itinaas ang aking T-shirt. Nang umiwas ako ay nagalit siya, sinampal ako at sinabing huwag akong umarte sa kanya.”

Afraid of what would Royette do to her, Carmina said that she became defenseless while the alleged incident happened. The complainant said that she got the chance to escape at around 3 a.m. of November 10 while Royette was asleep. She also said she left the room with only a towel wrapped around her body because her clothes were allegedly placed under the pillow used by the former actor. Then, she said she hid inside one of other rooms of the apartelle. “Paglabas ko ng Room ay lumusot ako sa gate ng kuwarto at nagtago ako sa ibang kuwarto. Narinig ko na lang ang makina ng sasakyan ni Royette na papaalis na ng motel,” said Carmina.

This was when the complainant sought help from the apartelle’s bellboy to accompany her at the Police Station 4 of Angeles City.
